Hello abhisheksircar,

I just tried it again now and it worked just fine. Are you sure you are putting the right VIN number. I have edited out my VIN and Serial Number from the image for security reasons. But it shows that the download works just fine.

Even I am facing the problem, says VIN is incorrect, I'm sure I am filling the correct VIN. There is a link below to register VIN on Maruti Suzuki Play Website. After clicking on that I don't see any place to register VIN. Should the VIN be registered somewhere first?

Even I am getting an Invalid VIN error.
Looks like only the new VINs (ones with 10th and 11th characters for manufacturing date) are accepted.

Thumbs down Re: Maruti releases map update for its Smartplay Infotainment system

It recognized the VIN once, however the link failed. When I try again, it reports an invalid VIN; strange!

Spoke to MASS regarding the missing SD card. They say that a replacement can be ordered from the spares section. They also say that the software update can be done on the same memory card and a new card (4GB) is not required. They say they will do the update once the memory card is here. It would take about 10 days for the card and it cost around 3K. Will wait for the card and then update.

Why are you after the MASS. they are charging you rs 3000 for a SD card that cost around 300 rs. Also most or all of the MASS are not well versed with this type of service ,which according to me is electronic service. how can you put data more than 2GB on a 2GB SD Card.

Just Buy a 4GB SD card ,format it as MS DOS FAT32 and copy the files downloaded from MAPCARE and you are done. Happy Navigating.

PS. I have done the same thing as mentioned above.

In my case I haven't been able to download with my VIN number. Is there an alternate way for me to download?

You can even use cards formatted with NTFS file system. The update is 3.73 GB in size. I have put the update on a 32 GB SD Card formatted as NTFS and also loaded a lot of Media content onto it. I can now use it for maps as well as media.

Thanks Sudeep. That's really helpful. I'm also having a 32GB card, used to interchange with maps card every time, now this info is a fix!
