Default How does Dapic DVD rate up

Hi team
I was hunting around for a DVD player with USB/SD/MMC card and the shopkeeper showed me this 1 DIN diapic DVD player with all of above for 8 grands. Ihad already made up my mind on JVC KDDV 7204.Now iam confused. Can any teammember rat this player, looks to be pretty cheap for all the functionalities it has got.But one thing was for sure, the looks were plasticky.

Dapic is a company that imports unbranded chinese products into the country and brands them as DAPIC. The products are badly built and are cheap. I would not choose a dapic over a reputed company like JVC.

Remember, cheap things are never good and good things are never cheap.

Blaupunkt has MP3 and USB but no Ipod
Alpine has only MP3
JVC has both

Havent seen Kenwood.
BTW Blaupunkt MP56/66 have both. you need this.

BTW what do you mean by "not the kind who'd keep his ipod 24 hrs"?

BOSS Audio Systems has a model (638B) which has bluetooth, USB and SD Card Slot. But I am not sure if it is sold in India.

I have a 160GB transcend HDD, is it possible to play back the folders stored on this on my car DVD player using the USB port. It does play back pendrives and SD cards. What is the option.

Of course it should - uses the same protocol for reading files and directories. But ...
* If the HDD consumes more than 500mA current on the USB 5V line, the HU may refuse to read the HDD, or the HDD may not function properly. Check the HDD manual for the current rating
* Depending on the HU, there may be limitations on number of files, number and nesting of directories. Please check your HU manual for the same
