I am extremly happy with three JVC HUs I have used so far. You can see the picture of my previous JVC HU in Vista (USB & Aux) here

Recently upgraded to DVD HU. See here (Indica Vista Aqua TDi Artic Silver. 7 Months and 10,000 KMs).

setup (cant recall all model numbers and specs)
JBL components on the front door 6"
sony (dont remember exactly) 4'' speakers on rear door
JBL 4 channel amp
JBL 1100watt sub in sealed box
Kenny 6043 HU
Installed at autoshop koramangala

The HU is very user friendly with good clarity at all volume levels
HU has independent sub level control, USB , aux, ipod control and all other regular features.
But i find the sealed box too boomy for my liking, may be a ported box would be better i choose the sealed one to save some boot space.

I have a budget of about 6k. Would this be enough for Pio 2190UB + a decent pair of Pio/JBL speakers?

^^Yes, but it is an odd 1.5 DIN size.
So, see if you can plonk it in your car.

Blaupunkt Hamburg MP57 at Rs. 9K. Excellent Head Unit. CD, MP3, USB via cable, Front Aux In and Bluetooth (Only for Phone Calls). You may end up cursing the way Blaupunkt have designed the MENU structure but its very easy once you get familiar with it.

Pre out wiring for Front and Rear Speakers are supplied with the HU. However Pre Outs for the Sub Out do no come as part of standard wiring kit. Mandovi Motors in Wilson Garden, Bangalore will provide the harness upon request if you need it. They did not charge me for the same too & I did not but the HU from them. The problem with the Pre Sub Out is that it is a single female RCA Out so you will need to source to Single Male - Double Male RCA cable in order to connect to a external amplifier.
