We got Cerwin Vega components for the front. Are you satisfied with the sound quality?

G must be gain = the amount of bass / mid / treble increase/reduction that you need.

F must be frequency - the center frequency around which you want the gain / reduction.

Q is Quality factor. The higher the quality factor, the sharper the EQ curve.

This type of EQ is called a parametric EQ. You can learn about this by simply watching this excellent video:

BTW I just ordered a Sony GT88UI from snapdeal for 7.2k.
It's a basic double DIN unit, but it has the best audio control features that you can get in this price range, by far!

1) Digital Time Alignment !! (Ok, Ok - you can't tune it very precisely, but it should be a lot better than not having anything)
2) 5V*3 RCA pre outs
3) LPF / HPF filters for front / rear / Sub with frequency/slope adjustments
4) 7 band EQ

Not exactly. I somehow think my OE Kenwood ones were better. Its too high pitched for my liking and cant seem to handle bass. However saying that, I haven't played around with the HU settings yet. Let's see if anything can be done with its help.

Thanks D3mon, will definitely go through it. I saw this HU on snapdeal and was almost going to buy it, however am personally not a fan of Sony Car Audios, had bad experiences with them. But its just me.
Another one with I liked was a Pioneer Mixtrax one with 3V preouts.

I am looking to buy a new HU for my Tata Safari. It presently has a Pioneer single DIN HU with 2 preouts, an amplifier, pair of components, pair of co-axials and a subwoofer.

I would like to retain the existing setup and change the HU to a VFM and not very expensive BT (to be able to make and receive calls) enabled single DIN HU. I don't need a CD receiver either, just USB/SD card will do. My google searches for this topic went in vain, but got hold of this thread.

Please suggest.

Please check the India websites of Kenwood, JVC and Pioneer - they mention MRP too. Street prices are less than MRP.

If you like Panasonic, you could pick up - http://pioneer-india.in/shop/mvh-355bt/. The street price here in Bangalore is 5500 Rs.

It meets all your requirements with good pricing.

I just bought the Pioneer MVH-355BT last week. The bluetooth works well with my Iphone 4S, both for Phone Calls, and music.

I paid Rs 6,000 (Including Fitting) and got it installed in my Scorpio in Delhi.

Any suggestion for a 2 din audio setup with 4 door speakers. My BIL is getting his swift this Sunday and he is not interested in the offered Sony unit.
His budget is around 20k and he just wants a decent setting nothing extraordinary.

Guys, I am looking for a 2 DIN HU with in-built maps and bluetooth for telephonic calls, one that can synchronize my phonebook. I want the cheapest option available. Rear USB will be preferable as Civic has the USB port within the hand rest.

By the way, I have heard about MMI Navi box which can be attached to any 2 DIN HU? Is it worth going for that with a cheaper 2 DIN unit without maps?

Also, in case of in built maps, how do we go about updating the maps?

Also, what about the fascia for the Civic? How much does that cost?

Please mention the street prices along with the options available. Thank you.
