I would go for the Kenwood eXcelon (I have one). Even the Alpine is good.

You sure you want to get it from US? Kenwood India and Alpine have very good models in India.

I spoke to Regional sales manager south from alpine. They had only cde 117 with 3 preouts at about 21k. of course street prices will be less. I waited for your reply for a day but i was in a hurry so bought Pioneer 9500 bhs for 160$ . kenwood excelon had highest ratings but it was about 40$ more or so.

Pls note FM stations in the USA are assigned "odd" frequencies & hence most units sold there are unable to tune into "even" frequency radio stations. So you may end up with a unit that is unable to tune-into your favourite local station !

Would be worth the $40 higher price.

Sorry, was caught up in something over the weekend so couldn't respond early.

Kenwood doesn't have that problem. I bought an eXcelon HU in US, and it catches everything in India - all odd and even frequencies.

I knew about it. But, wont it be possible to manually tune it with increments of 0.05 ? In any case , i did not bother much since it wont be used in bangalore or any metro for that matter. so only Akashvani

Kenwood doesn't have this problem, but I can confirm, thought trial by fire, that pioneer does.
There is no option of 0.05 steps. Only 0.2, and only odd frequencies.

Has anyone got first hand experience with "blaupunkt san diego 530" ? I was looking for a HU which has navigation built in rather than getting addon components and this was one which I could narrow down .http://www.snapdeal.com/product/blau...ion/1469176912

Its a very good head-unit from Blaupunkt. Better than many Caska or other chinese units in the market. Go for it if u want an all-in-one solution.

If u want better sound quality , go for a good headunit with that navigation box from mapmyindia. Will cost you around 35k.

Not an expert here, but the most happening HUs right now are pioneer 80prs, Kenwood 8016BT and JVC 926BT, depends on the budget. Even Clarion has some good units at a reasonable price.

Hello, i have been wanting to replace the HU of my Brio S (O) for as long as i remember.
The problem however is, i want a HU with navigation + good screen which will still be usable from the steering mounted buttons and will not need any dash kits for installation. Now i have heard that Brio does not require any additional dash kits for installing a universal 2 din HU, but unsure.

Also i know that there are steering button interfaces available for almost all HU brands which is a plug and play thing. However i am not sure and cannot make up my mind. Are there any members who have good this done for the Brio or even other makes in Mumbai?
I can carry a good HU from here with me which is why i wanted to get this done even more.
