Audio Arch, Prasads Multiplex(Hyderabad)- Authorized distributor for JBL/Infinity is quoting Rs5000 for the CS-1205 12" (only driver). Is this on the dot for a B/W purchase?

Mrs.Pavan in Pavan Electronics quoted 6grand !!.When asked about the price difference , she says " he doesn't provide fitting".

Both are registered Dealer/Distributors in Hyderabad as per indiajbl.com .

Hello.

Yes Audio Arch represents JBL for home/multimedia and Pavan Electrinics represents the car segment.

The CS1205 12" (woofer, no enclosure) carries an MRP of 3,990/- including B&W. Under no circumstance should you be paying even a rupee more than that. It is the printed price on the product!
Please make sure you are not being quoted for the CS1205T, which is essentially the same woofer inside a Bass Tube.

Default JBL prices

jbl.rediff.com does not show the jbl car audio products now.

Do we have any other place where we can find the MRP of the products.
Moreover jblindia site seems to show me only the new jbl products. Am I missing anything here.

hello Sam
im looking for rear fill
(current ICE is 5950 pio HU ,EL6.1 and a 12inch gz sub,KAC 8401 amp)

have decided on either the GT5 507 or the GTO 527.
i plan to play the rear fill off the Hu
i noticed the GTO series are 2ohm speakers. does this mean they will play louder than the 4ohm Gt5 counterparts.
what is more advisable if price is not a constraint

pls help

If budget is no constraint, then the GTO is what would be better. And yes they are more sensitive.

Ali, I think you can skip rear fills if its you only driving most of the time.

All things remaining equal the 2ohm speakers will play a bit louder for a particular volume setting on your HU but only because they will draw twice the current.

remember
1W at 4ohms = 2 V = 1/2A
1W at 2ohms = 1.4V = .7A

most amps are voltage amps so at 2V the 4 ohm speaker get 1W, the 2 ohm speaker gets 2W. hence you get a 3db gain in "effective sensitivity" at the expense of your amp being driven a bit harder becuase 2V @ 4 ohms = 1W but draws 1/2 A while 2V at 2 ohms = 2W and draws 1A.

None frankly. Just a slightly better voice coil - hence increased power handling. The same for the CS1204T tube and CS1205T tube. Even the tube used is the same, just a better woofer thrown in. *Shrug*

To tell you the truth I could not hear much difference between the 1204 and 1205.

@Abhibh
rear fills were GZ 6*9's - sold them-found the MDF rack too inconvinient ( more than the woofer box ).

@nishant.
i do drive mostly.
but wifey & friends etc do sit behind.
rear fill is for them
(Also i need to give them at least something better than dhak dhak to justify why i spent more than 15K on ICE)

@navin and SAM
though on most JBL websites and manuals the GTO series are shown to be 2ohm impedence speakers i have read a post where Sam says that in India GTO is 4ohm only
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/produc...tml#post920025
this statememnt has left me very confused
why would JBL do this ( take extra effort/less effort just for India? )

i would really like to know the truth!

Why is the GT5-12 missing at IndiaJBL.com?

Magma ji, any reason for buying the JBL GTO as a rear fill and not one of the electra coaxials ?

I thought it was the usual practice to buy front/rear speakers from the same brand so that they integrate well.
