Default Haaaaaaalp - ICE for Scorpio - pure Audio SQ setup

Hi ,

Need help with setting up ICE in a scorpio. I m looking for only audio, as I already have a portable DVD player to keep my kiddos happy

I have 2 head units, Alpine 9807 and Alpine 7998.

I plan to use the 9807 as the 7998 is wasted with an amped setup

I have a JL Audio 6450 amp ( 6 channel 75x6 rms, channel 5&6 bridgable & 220x1 with a low pass filter)
and a JL Audio 10W0-8 sub

I also have an Ipod highspeed Ainet connector that doesnot control the ipod, but does a good job of tranferring the signal across

I am looking for components for the front and 2 way speakers for the rea
r.

I cannot mount speakers on the rear door due to the bottle holders placed in the same spot.

My installer, TMC electronics in Bangy is suggesting that I use Alpine components for the front(10.6k) and a JBL 5x7 (3.9k) in the stock spot above the tailgate.

I was thinking focal components, but too expensive here

The sub will go into the tailgate and the Amp either under the passenger seat or on the tailgate.

I have a budget of 20-25k for the speakers and install.

Thoughts on the setup?

It is well within my budget but any better options?

I typically listen to 80s rock.. classical music, and ghazals. get subjected to the latest crap that Bollywood dishes out courtesy my wife and sis..

1. I'd use the 7998. it is a nice HU. I have not heard the 9807 so I cant tell which is better.

2. For your budget/musical tastes/HU and amps I'd consider Infinty Reference my mom paid about 16-17K for a pair of 6" 6020 comps and 6" 6022 coax for her car.

Illusion Carbon are too expensive and I have not heard Hertz Hi-Energy but if you can listen to them too. Illusion Lucent is hard to find and Blau velocity are not what they used to be. Boston is an aquired taste, Polk db is too bright and Polk momo is outside the price range.

Navinji is right. The 7998 is a very capable HU... Hold on to that one and thats what I would use over the 9807.

Oops... Typo.. I have the 7894 and not the 7998.. Guess I was dreaming about it when I wrote it .

The 7894 is the one that has the mofset amp builtin. That I am putting in as is into my smaller car
