Yes, you can use this car kit in your Sx4. This car kit has nothing to do with the audio system of the car and no integration wit it is required. It comes with its own speaker and mic. This is stand alone Bluetooth device can be used in any car(or out of car) irrespective of audio system of the car. I think it would only support Bluetooth headset / hands free profile and some of the advance features like displaying contacts in the phone on the Car Kit's screen might not be supported (need separate Bluetooth profile PBAP for that). Not sure about the call forwarding and three way calling as it supports hands free version 1.0. Please check the user's manual

Default Sx4 Zxi - Ice

Guys,

I have just bought SX4 ZXI. Looking for a ICE excluding HU as I'm not happy with the output. Budget: 10K - 15K. I prefer clarity and do not prefer high bass. Appreciate if you could suggest ICE.

Many thanks..

Cheers !

Try a GTO 937 at the Rear and GTO 607c in the Front then if not Satistifactory.

We can look into the other options Ahead.

A 4 speaker upgrade to JBL/Illusion/Hertz/Blaupunkt is your best option.

Question regarding "Preamp Outputs"-
Could someone please tell me importance of Preamp Outputs in car audio?
I am planning to purchase SONY CDX - GT420U and its specification says that it has 1 Pair of Preamp Outputs. I will use 2 front and 2 rear speakers in my SPARK. Please tell me if there may some problem with such setup?

Oops, problem hi problem hai, bhai.

The install manual says that is a "Rear/Sub OUT", which means that either only the rear channel can be amplified, or a sub can be connected via an amp. This would prevent you from connecting components in front (preferred) via an amp - only the rear speakers (normally coax, round or oval) can be connected.

Most here prefer the front components to be amplified (most people drive themselves, so they would like to have the best sound for themselves), with the rear speakers connected to the HU, if not amplified.

Of course, you will be able to have a sub without connecting the main speakers to the amp, but that won't bring out the best in the system. At loud volumes, the HU output will distort and create mayhem.

Better look for some other HU. Something other than Sony perhaps (Pio, Blaupunkt, Alpine, Kenwood, JVC, even a Panasonic) - like most people have done.

Default how to take out the OEM HU?

Can anybody tell me how to take out the OEM HU from SX4 zxi?

I have ordered new Amp kit "AMP9-BASIC" from 41Hz audio amp kits. Sounds good to me! Tripath based amplifiers for DIY:ers..

I am planning a "BY-PASS surgey" of OEM HU. Keeping everything intact and replacing only power Amp stage by new one (100mm x 65mm x 35mm). I am doing this way because I don't want to loose any functionality, looks. Same time I can not live with current sound anymore.

I am doing it myself - DIY.
Thanks.

Well you are first supposed to removed the vertical chrome plates adjacent to the head unit . After removing these plates , it is pretty easy to remove the head unit too

Please tell me in detail.
Though I have my hand on electronic stuff for last 20 years but zero knowledge in this Car stuff.

Can I remove it just by taking sharp knife or screw driver?
