I recently bought myself a second hand Nissan Sentra here in the US.
It currently has a Cd player/ FM/AM Receiver, with poor speakers, and no subwoofer. It looks like its an OEM player.

I'm looking to get a nice system with more than decent bass. My budget is Rs8000/- approx $200.

The thing is: I've no idea how car audio works. What a head unit is, what is the difference between a receiver and a player? (see this :eBay Motors: PIONEER DEH-P4900IB CAR CD/MP3/BLUETOOTH/XM RECEIVER (item 300190142470 end time Jan-19-08 18:52:39 PST) ) Would I need an Amp? What speakers should I go for...etc!!

The new setup should be able to play Mp3, and receive FM/AM. The speakers should have a nice range, and a subwoofer should handle most of the bass.

Please give me your valuable inputs, and enlighten this ignorant music listener.

you intend to buy the whole system for $200 off ebay? I am a bit sceptical about what the condition of the components you buy will be.

After posting this thread, I actually started browsing thru team-bhp's ICE section, and I realised it would be impossible to get a decent system for $200.
I'm thinking of it this way. I'll first upgrade my speakers, by getting better ones and a sub. Then get a new HU. I've no idea about Amps. Wiring is something not needed(I'm guessing), since my car has factory wiring already.
Btw, how do I edit my OP ??
