Hi guys, thanks to Bhagwan taking the trouble to drive his car to my place (incidently we live about 1km from each other, now i begin to suspect there is something seriously wrong with water supply in our part of town) I got the chance to listen to the i10.

Thanks B. I learnt a lot, then (not being a pro) I do have a lot to learn.

LBM (like Bhagwan) I am primarily a Home Audio guy. After dealing with the compromises of car audio I have realsied that the best car audio system (when you are travelling alone) is probably a chauffer, an Airhead and a pair of good headphones.

When we travel as a family our conversation is much more interesting that any music any car audio system can dish out.

Given the compromises of the i10 (and his family obligations) I think Bhagwan has done as good a job as coould be done. It is obvious that a lot of thought has gone into each part of the install. Like I said in my earlier post, I learnt a lot. I really did.

For example:
The Illusion is almost the perfect woofer to "clamshell". Uisng a 3" baffle gives room for the excursion and the magnet.

Is there room for improvement. Why not? I am a DIYer, we believe almost any commercially available product has room for improvement. For example: I would have built the sub box using a different combination of materials but then I have a water jet machine, a plasma robot, various VMCs and CNC machies, good FRP expereince and an array of other infrastructure at my disposal. Bhagwan did not.

Lastly this is Bhagwan's thread, I am not about to steal his thunder.

Bhagwan, post away!

Arrow Thanks Navin - Precious time........

What can I say;
I am the 'cook'
The food has been cooked by me.
I cannot say how good or how bad it is.
I presented it to Navin. He tasted it.
His comments are important.

I am actually thankful to him for his precious time.

Actually, I would like to request & invite forum members from Mumbai - those who are interested in ICE to try and take out some time and listen to this car. It is not some 'great' install, but for a Hyundai [quality of metal] the install is not bad.

This is my idea of how a car should be installed.
People may agree / paople may disagree.
Both are fine with me.
I just want people to have an opinion after they have 'heard'
That is all I ask of you.

I could offer 'demo's on all das after 6 p.m.
I stay @ Nepean Sea Road. All are welcome to drop by and listen.
I just have 1 condition - get you personal software. That is all.

Once you have heard; Write what ever you think, I shall 'accept it' !!!

Thanks.

Apprecite you time [Navin].

cheers:

If you feel that the thread should be closed, please do so.

I was actually hopeful of getting the car auditioned by members and let them post their impressions here.

If this gets closed, we will have to start another one for the opinions of persons.

Actually - to be truthful - I was really enjoying the 'Hijack' more than the I-10 install !!
I was really getting amused & I loved it. Sorry !!!

So as Navin would have said - HIJACK AWAY - oops - Post Away - sorry !!!!!!

p.s. Any forum member will be attending the Legacy Audio Launch Party this evening ?
I know it is off topic, but just wanted to know !!!!

Dear B,

please explain what does the "inverted phase" mean in the terms of placing tweeters?

Also tellme what you people mean when you say the speaker has to "break in"

MS
Inverted Phase means that when in on the passive cross over there are terminal

input-woofer-tweeter
+.-.....+.-.......+.-

in normal condition we connect the same with woofer`s + with cross over`s + and - with - same go for the tweeter.but in inverted phase we wire the woofer`s + with crossover`s - and woofer`s - with crossover + and the tweeter`s + with cross over`s + and - with - it can be visa-versa also.

It means that the tweeter and mid bass are running out of phase.

About break in here is a very nice article.
