I know of a Swift with Rainbow comps and 6x9s. Coincidentally, my boss is using the car presently, and no - he is not running them by choice.

I know of an install that was to happen with Focal Dual Monitors and Utopia BE comps + sub. I could check whether that is now complete.

I am not aware of any Hertz Mille in these parts. I know of one install with Energy/ High Energy combo.

DLS Ultimate Setup is available with a dealer at Milan (I think A-1), but in M800 . Can put you on to him.

The Eclipse is an option too. But no one sells it here in India. Digimax was to be doing it, but it never took off.

cheers:
PTC is doing Eclipse

Quite a hilarious thread.

Hi Bhagwan. I'm not qualified enough to give you Audio advice, but glad to see that you're having a bit of fun with the kids who are falling over themselves to give you ICE advice.

Take care baba,
Sam

I like this;

However, I am posting here on a serious note;
I REALLY DO WANT TO LISTEN TO SOME 'SERIOUS' SQ INSTALLS.

No one [except B & T] is offering me a demo.
I heard your cars - but they are SPL set ups. Thanks for that......

However, SPL is not what interests me. SQ sure does float my boat.

Now with PTC & Digimax & so many more in India, there is so much I can listen to, just not getting the chance, so am a bit disappointed.

Thanks for writing; All the best to you !!!
It is always a plasure to meet you & chat up [every once in a while] !!!!

cheers:

Bhagwan,

While Sam knows ICE he prefers to give advice on more important matters such as "engine-vengine".

I did make 2 calls (Dynaudio and Focal installs) but both owners were not happy with me offering their car as a demo car. So I did not push it. Sorry.

B&T is a pro and has more access that most of us.

This would have been a 'good learning curve'
Actually I have heard Focals in ND with amps from Japan - Flying Moles [This was not bad].
Dynaudio's I have auditioned in Singapore [Esotar] & Munich - High End 2007 - in a Volvo.
However, that is not what I am interested in.
Those set ups are very well 'calibrated' & the installation is really very very well done. We can never get that result from 'Babu' 'Anil' 'Chotu' etc. etc.

Besides, the quality of our cars [tin & body] too has a lot left to be desired.

To make a long story short, I would be interested in 'listening' to Indian Cars - Set up in India by Indians, so I get a fair idea of what the end result will be.

Thumbs down Skoda ? What was in that set up ?

Hello Again;

What was there in 'that Skoda' ?
Was it an SLP or SQ set up ?
Gear ?

Basically I want to listen to Audison + Focal
Morel + Brax
DLS + Helix
RF + MB Quart
Rainbow Audio [referance line] + Helix or Brax
Hertz Mille [with the ribbon] + Audison

I am certain there are more than enough persons that have installed gear like this in their cars. The D/D [dealer & distributor] must be having demo cars or client cars that they have axcess to.

Cool Budget = Quality = Performance !!!

Dear 'ScarySkulls'

Sir,

I just placed an adhoc budget of 100/- K
If I said any less, I would not get suggestions;
If I said any more, then I may have been laughed at - cost of car is 4.5 L & I may land up spending 2 L on the ICE

Always remember [at least that is the rule I go by]; Budget is a 'mind set'
If you like & believe in a 'philosophy' price points become circumspect.

The objective is to get a job done. That is why some one comes here - to learn and to share and there by grow & improve.

Every one can learn - there is always scope for improvement - products may keep getting more expensive, the question is can 'Bhagwan' listen to the change ? Spend to a point that 'justifys' the change - acoustically.
To each their own threshold.............

We all started off with a Sony / Pioneer etc. etc. at some point in our lives. Are we still there ? Maybe some are.....[will improve] some have moved up to Blau & then further up to JBL etc. etc.

It is a 'learning curve' we are all in different boats sailing the same river, meandering different turns that is all.

So, if you have an opinion, speak it, keep and open mind and more important an open ear; You will learn a lot. I know audio has taught me a lot !!!

&

I have enjoyed and cherished every moment of it.
[currently my morining session of music is on & I am listening to a great performance - Hayden - Three Concertos - Trumpet & Orchestra + Chello & Orchestra + Violin & String Orchestra. Brilliant !!! Too good !!!
Wish I could share the experiance with you - seriously !!!

My humble suggestion - if I may be permitted to put in my 2 paise worth - have an opinion - try to make it a well read & researched one & be open to altering it, if the circumstance so demands.
[sorry for being so emotional - this music is making me do this] !!!

MBQ aint what it used to be. I'd replace that with a Dyn+Steg combo.

"That Skoda" had Steg amps (3 I think) but the speakers were stealth so only Ajay (or LBM's google skills) can tell you what they were.

We have quite a few good installers here too. Remember the installs you refer to probably cost a lot more than 1 lac. Are you ok with reserving 20-25% of your budget for install alone?

Deepak, Anwar, Gunbir, B&T, etc... do excellent work. If I had all the time in the world (did nto need the car) and was in Bangy I'd give my car to Deepak (even if it also means giving up some control over what will be installed).

Sam, is Jacob still doing the kind of work he is capable of? I have not seen him since he left Bandra.

Bhagwan, the i10 will require considerable thought. It's body panels are pretty resonant; it's space, limited; and it might require a battery upgrade.
