You're welcome.

The Kenwood statement was supposed to be taken on a lighter note. I feel its a third grade amp; but there are lot here who tend to disagree (in the name of 'SQ').

Ah! Never used/ auditioned a kenwood amp before so couldn't get the humor. Only alpines, hifonics, rockford and JL audio (and sony xplod but we can ignore that one) So my query still stands. Will a gto 1004 be good enough to power the kappa or ref sub that I had mentioned? I don't mind replacing the bull audio comps with something from alpine/rainbow/jbl/infinity but am more or less decided on the sub. Will the amp provide as much juice to the sub as an alpine mrp-m500 at 4 ohms? mrp-m500 puts out 300w at 4 ohms and gto 1004 puts out 300-320w at 4 ohms (bridged mode). Are these figures comparable?

1. Upgrade your comps.
2. Yes, the figures (and results) are comparable unless you start behaving like an 'audiophile'.

Appreciate your inputs. That brings me to the following queries-

1. Could you provide me with the names/contact info of a few shops in karol bagh where I can pick up the gto 1004 (grey)? I checked with Driven but they quoted 10,500 for grey and 12,500 with B&W.

2. I assume that this amp will need a 4 gauge amp kit. I have a scosche 8 gauge amp kit lying with me but I suspect that this will not be sufficient. Am I right on this front or can I make do with the 8 gauge kit?

3. Which comp (either infinity or jbl) will be most suited for this amp? I am not an audiophile but I can make out the difference between an mp3 and and flac file so am leaning more towards clarity. My budget for the comps is 10,000 bucks max. I have spx-13ref in my ikon and absolutely love those comps but don't have much of a budget for this upgrade so am looking for a VFM comp which comes close to those.
