An ID 10 or 12 inch sub is perfect for a hatch. ID has no boom at all. So just close your eyes and get an IDQ 10 or 12 with a sealed box and you are in heaven. I am a huge ID fan and user.

P.S : Gunbir DOES do ID.

@nishant

Since the last few weeks, ive felt more road noise coming in thru the floor so i want to re-damp the floor properly before doing anything else.
So things are pretty much at a standstill right now.

How much does ID 12 inch cost? Can you please specify model no as well? Where can I buy/audition ID in Mumbai?

EDIT: Apologies, just read Aditya's post that "ID 12" sub has an MRP of 12.7 K". Sorry for being impatient!

Patience/Nishant, For specific queries please use PM. TBHP is not a commercial forum so Gunbir cannot reply fully.

I understand Navin. I have already discussed with Gunbir over PM. That was just an update.

I am contemplating between 10" and 12" subwoofer for sound quality in a sealed enclosure, without compromising on boot space.

Should I go for 10" or 12" subwoofer?

Do remember that sealed needs more power.

The sound quality is better in sealed right? I believe ported is for SPL, please correct me if I am wrong.

Also, sealed takes less space.

Some subs needs only less space unlike others. Hope you select the right one

Thanks. I am hoping for the best. Will a 500 W monoamp do for IDQ 12" in sealed enclosure?

If I say I am confused it would be an understatement.

You're almost correct on some aspects and very much correct on other aspects.
As told by Jk, a sealed any would require more power but it's always worth spending on that.

An IDQ 12 would be very good in your car. I dunno if the 10" is less expensive or not. If it is, then that would do. Spend the chillar on something else.

Thanks Zak. I have decided to go for sealed one.

I find that Alpine MRP M550 Mono amp is powering ID 12" sub in your green swift. Would you recommend getting them?

IDQ 10" retails for 16800 in Bangalore. IDQ 12" retails for around 20000. I do not mind spending extra, but my beloved boot space.

It is the Alpine MRP M650 and it's fine for that sub (many say there'll be more better SQ if combined with a better amp, but why take the risk ). That's the ID V3 and not the IDQ.
I'd recommend you to get the 10 incher. It'll do the job if you're not at all looking for thumping bass and any kind of boom. All you'll get from it will be smooth, soul stirring lows which will make your ICE sound great. Just mate it to some good amp and you're well ready to go.
Baaki, if you're looking for BAASS, (On my chest and brains kind, for example) don't waste your time and money on these expensive stuff. Just get some Xplod or some boom box. They require less power too.

PS. Reconfirm the prices with Gunbir via PM/Phone.
