I have the amplifier under the front co driver seat, so no space, about the driver seat, am not sure.

thanks
I have a 1st gen scorpio(2003 model), it has the jack under the co-driver's seat. and the space under the driver seat is OK if you go for a mini-ATX setup, but it is not enough if you go for a normal desktop motherboard setup. Thats why i chose the back door.

Total cost so far is around 14 to 15K . Im broke right now and the most cheapest touchscreen monitor costs around 12K.

My scorpio is a first gen one, it came with a single DIN HU slot, so no chance of integrating the display onto the dashboard. And YES, the car speakers, woofers and amps can be integrated to the carputer to get great quality.

i said around 12K. There's one in iride for 13.8K. Moreover, i wish to buy some components like touchscreen, inverter & some input cordless devices from the US (got some friends there,so shipping will not be a problem), they are cheaper there.

Congrats man. Also consider to replace your Dual core processor to a cheap celeron or any good Core 2 duo.

i 've not yet fixed the LCD to a standard place and im still searching for a good wireless keyboard with track ball. The sound output is set to 5.1, 4 output channels from motherboard connected to the 4 channel amp and the center channel output connected to the 2 channel amp which powers the sub woofer. The sound quality is really SUPERB. Alternator whine has disappeared and im really very happy with the sound quality. Will post more pics later.

@ for all those who were worried about the rear door mounting of the scorputer : i did around 400kms driving with the scorputer ON on some really bad roads(filled with pot holes etc) and the scorputer kept working flawlessly.

Why trackball and why not track Pad?

So you have a 4.1 channel output. Why don't you set the Computer output to 4.0 quadraphonic and derive the .1 (subwoofer) from front L+R using the amplifier crossover?

If you derive the subwoofer from the center channel of 5.1, how do you play original 5.1 source? Even if you upmix the stereo, you wont get proper bass from the centre channel, isn't it?
