This is what we have, people providing the illusion of security, not real security.

Security checks do give you a sense of security especially in densely populated areas.
Security guards can't be intelligent enough to distinguish bombs from capacitors, LED displays. If one tries, its easy to fool people who think they are somewhat superior. But then thats the reason why security guards are what they are and are not posting comments sitting comfortably with good paychecks, access to computers, internet etc.,

All these so called false checks do prevent incidents from happening everyday which might result in more fatalities frequently.
