Ok. My bad. Then why did go in for a 4050? (scratches own head). I WAS a budget conscious buyer then (means looked more at the budget than at the features).

nope not neccesary especially if your gonna have a sub
That said : if you like how a certain model of a certain brand sounds it does make sense to go for the same brand in the rear.

Nothing in the world of ICE is a necessity. It's all a matter of tastes, ears and the thingy in between.

Many have mixed and matched speakers to attain some good results.

An Alto ICE query....

A JBL dealer quoted Rs.1450 for this 4" 2-Way Coaxial Full-Range Speaker. Is the price OK ?

Is there any other(brands) 4" Coaxials options available at this price point ?

Definitely yes. Here's a picture of how I've installed 937s in an 800. Excuse the quality.

mithun, see if you can source Blaupunkt 4" inch co-axials. I've heard JBL, Sony and Blaupunkt 4 inchers in an Alto and Blaupunkt sounded much better than the others.

Price seems ok with b&w for GT-5-S204.

Check other options,
In mid line=Blaupunkt GTx402, jblGTO427 (rms range:30-35W, price around 1800rs)

High end=Polk db401, Blaupunkt THx402 or velocity Vx402, Morel Tempo (rms range:40-50W, price varies from 2400 to 3000)

I have 1.5 months old Hertz DCX 100 4" co-ax with me. I am going to upgrade this to IL 4.1 comps today/tomorrow. If any of you interested to buy let me know (with warranty). I'll post it in classified section soon.

But please note, the boot hydrolics go for a toss if you fit them there..

I'll suggest the GT5's as they are less brighter compared to GTO, if you need chann-chann, then go for GTO

You can look at my setup as well - simple and affordable:

I am happy with the quality of sound that I get with my JBL speakers.
