DA the XTC foam cups have been aorund since the 80s. I find them very useful to keep dust and moisture out of teh rear of the speaker's cone.

ICEd my dzire today at Sachin's autoshop Koramangala. OE HU was kept.
Front componets JBL GTO 609C, Rear GTO 699 ovals and damping of front doors. Total came to 10800/- all inclusive. The music is very much to my liking, nice punchy bass. Even wifey (who is a music noob) said the clarity and bass was great, She said it sounds like surround. Me went like
Thanks to the inputs from friends on the forum ampere, hrman, deralt. will put up pics on my ownership thread ASAP
Happy now

Default ICE Upgrade for Dzire Ldi

I've been looking forward to join this forum for a while and finally got an opportunity for the same. Here comes the first question for me.

I have a Dzire Ldi fitted with the stock Hu that comes in Vdi and above. Back in the boot is a RF basstube powered by the crap soundbarrier amp. And now since I'm seriously in "it", I want some serious bass out of the ride.

I have two options:

1. Plonk in 3 Pioneer W310DVC with two monoblock amps (pioneer/jbl/kicker) bridged together in a ported box.

2. Add 2 kicker 15" in a sealed box powered ny 2 monoblock amps.

I also need an HU Upgrae to which I'm still researching. And all this would be wired through 0-4 gauge wires. Moreover, damping would be done on the roof and in the boot.

Was really wondering if the above makes sense. Let me know if this is good enough or if someone has a better idea about the same.

Looking forward to hearing from the audio gurus!

Mods: Kindly aapprove this thread. Or if I've missed searching an existing thread, kindly move the query to the same.

Get a Digital Designs Sub in a ported box with a very good monoblock amp.
Will be better than both these options.

DD Sub - 20k
Monoblock - Infinity Kappa one , DD Cm1000 , - 20k.

Well in no mood of spending 20k each for a sub and an amp. Would rather go in for 2 kicker 15" and 2 monoblocks. Its been a while that three sub setup has been luring me. So I'm pretty sure that I would go in for the same. Maybe add a DD or a Memphis audio sub as a centerpiece later on.

Was trying to get in touch with LBM but could not find his contact info.

Any more suggestions are more than welcome

Checked one of the local guys here. He quoted around 8k for a 15" kicker. I don't know what series were they. And those wou would be powered by 2 bridged mono amps

Visited Driven today and talked to Mr. Rana and Subhan. I was advised the following:

Pioneer HU: 1590 MRP 14800
STP Damping Bulk Pack: 12000
Enclusure+2 X DD 1512: 70000 (I guess this includes Bull Audio 2 Guage wiring as well. Also are the subs worth the money?
Audison LRX 1.1: 34500 (for subs)
Focal PS 165 Compos: 14500
Focal PX Coax: 9000
Focal FPP 4100 amp: 17000 (for components)
Wires (misc): 6500

Would this be a good setup. Want some advise over this. Any suggestion and a first hand experience welcome!

It all depends on what you wanted, and what budget you set out with. This one looks like what *they* wanted (to sell)! It is your money, so perhaps you should be as prudent and astute as you would be when buying anything.

There are lots of products in the market. Please do listen to as many as you practically can - and compare yourself. Some which cost much less than this may sound better to your ears. Trust your *own* ears only (and what is between).

Look at what others have to offer before deciding.

Also, take a look a get a quote from Motor Concepts. They are located ahead of the Ramesh Nagar Metro Station. Offer Great Service and are VFM. Great chaps, and do not sell their products, like others do.

They all do! Some do it mildly and one doesn't get triggered. Some do it nonchalantly, and one can make out their agenda without having to look hard.

All right, got another quote from Elegant, Lajpat Nagar. Following is what he offered

Kicker Solo Baric 12" dual enclosure: 65000/-
Mono amp Ex2000: 52000/-
Damping bulkpack(something deatmat...not sure):
HU, Pioneer 4950: 19000/-
Components Hertz HS165: 17500/-
Coax, Hertz HCX690: 15000/-
4 Channel Amp Focal FPP 4100: 22000/-

All this plus misc wiring kit 02 gauge, distribution blocks etc.

What do you think about this setup??

I also have the option of choosing Sundown Audio (which would be a killer). A 12" would pump out around 400RMS. However, the only problem with sundown audio is that it would not have any warranty! So a little skeptical about that.

Although I wanted 2 X 12" CompVX pumping out almost 1500 wRMS coupled with a slightly heavier amp...maybe 2000 watts!

Looks like you want an SPL setup! Though the prices are a trifle high (could be the effect of a weak ₹), the combination is good.

With your desire for higher wattage, you would be running into issues with the alternator. Get in touch with Raghhvinder (@low_bass_makker) - he would be the best to advise you about really loud stuff. He even makes his own high-power subs, and is probably the loudest in the field in India.
