i am 100% certain that adire audio closed down over a year ago, the chief designer and CEO Dan Wiggins is working for a company called exodus audio or something like that now as well as creative sound solutions and he is doing OEM work ie designing speakers for mass production for OEM companies - they closed their doors in February 2007

Thanks from all of us at Adire!

Adire closing not rumor anymore - DIY Mobile Audio

i dont doubt that you saw the speakers available but those would be clearance stock. They might just be considered collectors items

i do have one regret though since i never ever got a chance to try either their shiva or Brahma subs, but from all accounts ive heard that those are brilliant but it wouldnt have been able to afford the monster amps required to run those since they needed like 1600 to 2500 watts as maximum and i believe in running some extra headroom, so that would have meant some hectic power and changes to charging system and (alternator) and extra batteries etc etc etc

Oops.
I just recalled that set for up for grabs at DIYMA.
Someone had posted there.
Sorry you had to dig up that info

My sub box is ready.
Trying to find a terminal box for it.
Hopefully i will be able to fire the sub and the new compos tomorrow.

They are .
.
.
.

Ah well , 1 more day of guesses won't be bad i suppose .

The install will be normal but neat. tidy. minimal wiring visible.( Only those going into and coming out of cross over and DB).

Dan is associated with ADI, as their Chief Technical Officer.
About ADI
A company that is hired to design the Sub, mids, Tweets for Dan's famous XBL^2 Technology.

Shiva-X and their Maelstrom subs are indeed one of the cleanest subs around. The only drawback is their weight and they require bigger size of enclosure to start with minimum 1.3cu.ft and their Monstrou Maelstrom 21" sub coming up is gonna be a complete monster. Shiva-X can run with 300RMS of power too, but with a larger enclosure. For it to work efficiently it would need anywhere between 400-1000RMS. With it's XBL technology it's bound to be clean.

Other Close contenders in the price range could be the JBL Gti, HSU, Fi Q. have read great reviews on these, Gti's DDS works like XBL or could be better.

@Abhinav: Really eager to see what you have to say about the MAG.

In principle the 2 technologies are quite similar. However the product that looks most interesting for car audio enthusiasts is their 12" shallow mount subwoofer.

Principally they are similar but Gti's system has a slight edge against the XBL in keeping low inductance.
If your talking about the 12" shallow sub on ADI's site, that's Dan's creation for SI of their BM MKIII series. Requires just 0.5 cu.ft with limit of 500RMS surely looks interesting. Definitely a SUB to watch out for. The prototype is being tested, by next month end.

The initial impression.
Bad.

Why?

Coz the install did not finish yet

Rain played spoil-sport. Though it was needed but not on the day I was getting my install done.

However quite a lot of work has been done.

Wiring laid ( Almost complete)
Enclosure made.
Spacers made.
Rear Speakers Removed.

Work left.
Removing and fitting new components up front.
Installing the db and fuse and fitting the amps.
Installing the sub in the box.

and the main part
Tuning.

Some pictures were clicked today ( Couldn't take many due to the weather and many more reasons )

The camera is resting in the car.
The stuff is lying there waiting to be installed and waiting to start performing.

Man that's too bad.. rains always to be adding the delay to the anxiety.
So can we expect the system to be fired up tonight or it's expected not before another 12 hours?

It's time you put some pics of the comps, a teaser pic may be ..what say?
