Sony: Hell no! Not even if you get it for free.

You can PM me for a dealer's no who can give you a fair pricing on grey Kenwood / JBL.

if SQ is what he wants, then the 604 is out of the equation. they are not SQ oriented. they adopt the attacking kind of style of the budget JBL's and may make some compo's sound harsh sometimes.
the reason why its a NO in capitals is because Polks are bright and attacking components anyways,
hence
POLK+JBL= CHAN CHAN not equal to SQ

by "attacking" do you mean bright in nature?

okay.

i might be wrong in understanding, but does being bright in nature dismisses the SQ factor?
there are ways to tone down the high frequencies, the equalizers. cant we use them?

@frankmehta, perhaps SQ definition is being victimized if you speak of Polk being bright and A604 worsening the situation? Brightness is the inherent nature of some components, so if you don't like brightness better listen to them without an external amp to know it's inherent nature. ANY amp will worsen the situation, not just the A604, which IMHO is a decent amp that does not cause 'brightness' by itself. And, to top it all, 'bright' is bright to some and not at all chhan-chhan to others, so individual auditioning is better than hear-say.

@cyclops, conventionally one plays with the XO components to tone down the brightness of the tweeters, if everything else is OK with the components otherwise. The XO modifications to reduce brightness have been discussed by Navin and others here.
