Wiring was wrong from amp it self, actually my installer did wrong wiring , +ive terminal was engaged with -ive wire and vice versa!!

But LBM could make out in 2 mins ( I donno how ) he corrected it tuned the amp and bass was improved by 15-20% but no change in treble & vocals.

The gains were pretty high on JBL 1004 & i could not cross the volume level of 14 (top is level 40), now after reading & discussiing with fellow members am able to touch level 40 without any clipping & overloading the compos & Setting on HU is flat , HPF is selected to 90 . This makes me happy !!!

Man i just can't wait for my MONO !!

I will be using 2 different power cables from Finolex + fuse from Ichibahn for both the amps ( Now please don't start a war for Power cables )cause i found much simple to that way & not using power distribution block !!

Hi Akshay, I'll be passing by Ambala enroute from Delhi-Simla. Thanks for your offer mate, but two things- I've already auditioned Bull, and secondly, I'll be traveling with some friends and they'll surely beat me blue if I tell them to wait while I audition several set-ups on our way!

Man I have already auditioned Bulls, but didn't find them very impressive, perhaps because it was a super basic install and they were running minus an amp, tweeter position was not the best.. Maybe I'll audition them again in a better install, but that'll have to wait until i come back to Delhi!

am thinking for reverse mounting of sub in MDF box ... or free air mounting like manan's civic i don't know whether it is possbile or not in small getz..

also the board in trunk will be converted to plywood and covered with black mat & filled with foam so that it doesn't vibrate , this is because the woofer is heavy and original ply or plastic tends to bend from center and is getting spoilt which i don't want

Why would you want to fill with foam? Are you talking of the parcel shelf or the hatch doorpad?

I doubt if the parcel shelf is supported well enough (it is supported only on the shorter side edges) to carry the weight of the sub. A free-air sub is going to work there, but the output is likely to be muddy.

The main issue is controlling the sag of the parcel tray in the center of the long sides. It has to be made *very* stiff. Do the following:
* Use 1/2" treated ply and cut to the parcel tray profile first
* Get a frame made of 1" L or T shape steel angle
* Screw the ply on top of this frame
* Lay down fiber glass on the underside of the ply, about 5-6 layers. You could do this yourself or get some one to do it. Alternatively, stick 2 layers of fiber sheet (used to cover gates etc.) to the underside with Araldite
* After trial mounting the sub, cover the whole thing with the mat material

Who is manan? Is it m4ugr8? If yes, then his subs aren't free air, they are in INFINITE BAFFLE. Bole to the the baffle of the sub gets infinite air. It's not exactly equal to to free air. It's very very much complicated. So much that beyond this I don't know anything about it.

Yep, Manan is m4ugr8.

His subs look like they are in a Trunk Baffle/Infinite Baffle setup, but they are actually just mounted in reverse, firing into a sealed box.
