As i told you my comps are to be available by tomorrow eve, so we decided to try the new HU in my friends lancer, which currently houses the Pioneer 8650(amazing HU). Guys but what happened next was surprising, the Alpine HU 9887 was disappointing, it really took us 2 hours to tune the set that i may produce the kinda sound we've been listening to and that too with the Alpine eq at their peak performance. Having second thoughts about keeping this HU.

Looks like you are trying to either copy+paste or drag+drop the file from Windows Explorer!

When trying to create a post, scroll down a bit further - under Additional Options, there is Attach Files with a button marked Manage Attachments. Clicking this opens a window labelled Manage Attachments with a series of boxes with a button Browse against each. Clicking Browse opens the File Open dialog - this is where you select your file. Click Upload when you have selected the pictures you want uploaded. Once the files are uploaded, click on the clip icon above the edit window to select the picture to insert in your post.

@ D1ISTHE1:

Was curious to know - what was it about the 9887's sound that disappointed you?

What did you find missing in the 9887 that was there in the Pioneer 8650?

How did you adjust the EQ of the 9887? Haven't really played around with this HU myself but to the best of my knowledge, the bass/treble/EQ controls for the 9887 cannot be adjusted unless one has the Imprit EQ kit (I may be wrong about this though). Are you using it by any chance?

Congratulations on your setup BTW, hope you find a suitable amplifier and sub that suits your needs, taste and budget

Bro first of all Al9887 has no built in DSP which the 8650 has. secondly an 8650 out of the box with just loud on produces better sound with the current setup. The 9887 has no loud feature. Also the UI has no graphic representation of the setting whereas the pio has. The 9887 also skiped a couple of times on the speed-brakers (this is Alpine). The soud is OK.
A good head unit shud be able to produce comparatively better sound on even a normal setup. Rest the gurus will have their say.

There should be a MX button on the HU or in the settings.
Alpine's MX = Pioneer's Loudness.
