Also wanted to know if Alpine / JBL / Kicker make amplifiers which can be run at 1 ohm?
Haven't been able to find any yet.

Hifonics has loads of amps which pump out 1000W+ RMS @ 1 ohm. MTX has a 1500W RMS mono amp stable at 1 ohm (MTX Thunder Elite 1501D). JL Slash series amps should be 1 ohm stable i guess as well. Rockford Fosgate also has 1 ohm stable amps.

hi abhinav. see, the sub needs raw power. there are quite a few amps in usa that provide raw power, but they are humongously heavy. you will end up paying a lot for the shipping. i say, look for something real cheap there, or else look for the amp here...

thats what i think too. the 'KMD' route that he is planning to take is going to make it very expensive.

i am always open to getting it from india. The kmd route will be avoided in this case. And this is sometime. Not immediate. A friend might get them fr me. Also if there is some options from dubai?

KMD is a guy who gets you stuff from USA.
At a higher price that is.

Charges a dollar at 60 + some 150-200Rs per pound. + shipping from mumbai to delhi.

It is a bit on the expensive side.
I want one in the 20k range.

Gurus.
Does it make a difference if i use 2 seperate amps rated at 1000w at 4 ohms in comparison to 2 seperate amps rated at 1000w at 1 ohm.
Will the output be same?

I think if you run subs at 1 ohm the damping factor will be less.

The higher the damping factor better the amp has control over the sub.
