I've never heard of Sound Barrier. Maybe it is a good brand, maybe it is not, I don't know.
I just wonder how people name their brands. That too in a (supposedly) English speaking country.

A sound barrier is something that stops the sound and acts as a roadblock, thereby preventing the sound from reaching where it wants to go.

Why would you name your brand that? *shaking head*

Edit: Now I remember, I have heard it earlier on the forum. Here. http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/sound-...tml#post795948

And sir jee this sound barrier is not the one you are referring to , to know about sound barrier follow the link:
http://www.soundbarrier.com/site/car_amplifiers.htm

My Amp is from England not another desi alpine , and yes you offended me.
Garry bhai, sorry to make you feel offended. Trust me, my intentions were clean.

See, now I'm going to show you a couple of pics which should clear all your doubts. Even this company has a website Alpine Electronics, Inc.**alpine.com; but the model # shown on the amp doesn't reflect anywhere on the website. What does it mean? Its a fake (desi).

1. Sound barrier has a website = Alpine as well.

2. Your model # couldnt be traced = So was mine.

3. The tweakability and other options are identical.

4. Both are desi.

5. Installer took you for a ride, confused you and most probably overcharged you just for the lack of knowledge.

Rest, whenever you wish to audition a JBL bass tube let me know.. I dont have one right now but can assure that there are many in Delhi who have one. Maybe, you haven't had a chance to audition some good quality stuff!

As others pointed out rightly, theres nothing called MTF, its MDF. Regarding the JBL bass tube made of particle board (I fully understand what you mean here-Jail road type furniture), I would like to differ strongly here.. these are common things that our 'friendly neighborhood' installers keep on telling us. Bhaiya.. yeh lagwa ke dekho.. JBl phail hai.. Soni Soni hai.. World class.

and yes, it would sound even better if you use 'sandalwood'.. Imagine sound and all the fragrance.. LOL! Now no offence. PM me whenever you have any doubts and I would be happy to help you out.

Till then, Enjoy..

Now that you mention it, not only are the options identical, the board layout is identical too. It appears to me that these amplifiers are identical, just in two different external bodies.

Sandalwood tube will not give BASS. It will give BAAS.

1. Very true Sam bhai.. All the internal boards for desi alpine types are identical. Beat this.. I remember few days back I saw a similar amp named "SHAKTIMAAN - 8000 W Power".

2. A 'pleasent' BAAS if original is used.

I agree with Panky here. Been there done that in my Santro , like 5 years ago, But still it was loud, but i did use an authentic Blaupunkt bass tube bought with bill & warranty.

But since my installer is a friend, he clearly mentioned that it was an assembled amp & I can get what ever brand written on it (like alpine, mercury, jvc etc).

Regarding your bass tube weighing 35 kgs, with the woofer, I would like to weigh that first.

No offenses meant!

now Panky bhai. that was milk of milk and water of water.
checked this thread after night, and its quite funny.
anyways, mr garry. yes, your amp is DESI and your bass tube is custom made Sonni, but this is the third time im saying it. if you love it, its perfectly ok!
no one means offence to you. just opening your eyes and telling you not to go to the same inshtoller again.
who knows, this time he might give you an Audishon amp that looks the same!

Perfectly said, Dr.FrankBhaiMehta.

@garry.brant, what matters is that you like it, not whether others feel you have done the 'ideally right' thing or not.
1. Be happy with what you have and LISTEN TO MUSIC AND ENJOY
2. Whenever you get a chance listen to systems in other cars, compare the sound signatures (bright or neutral, punchy or dull, etc.), and make a note of the differences
3. With that, and reading up on the forum, you will be able to figure out what (and IF at all) you need to change in your system

WELL WELL WELL WELL ,
Thank you very much guys for all the clarifications, now i knnow what i have done, i would be going back to the installer soon to return the amp( if he would).
Though i am very happy with the bass tube as i have always been (used the same in the Pailo), i would soon be looking to add another one.
Please pool in your suggestion for a new amp 4ch.
And please tell me what to do in case the installer doesnt take the amp back.

new shop and already he's lost a customer. loser.
anyways, a good suggestion would be the jbl gto1004. you wont need a second bass tube! you will be happy with the power it gives one of them. even your other speakers will be happy.

PS: if he doesnt take the amp back, tell him he's just started his business. and you will spread a bad reputation about him. he will be scared and do whatever you ask him to :-)
