According to me absolutly no benefit, marketing gimic probably, which reminds me, i am becoming quite forgetful these days, ummm? oh yeah, i'm going to try in with one tweeter running each side, as these are still slightly bright sounding to me, I have toned down the harshness (but I suffer from selective and sensitive hearing when it comes to high frequency sounds), otherwise i might have to bite the bullet and purchase some new tweeters.

i got same components and i find them perfectly fine. try only one tweeter at the top. i like the way you have mounted the compo's.

I'm sure I can get better out of them, have to try some different configerations, i mounted them when i was using the head unit internal amp, the accoustics have changed now with the addition of amps and mid bass mounting, still will have more of a play.

The DLS A series are very good clean sounding amps, very comparable with the Genesis Profile range, the two companies used to have a tie up, promoting and sales, I chose the DLS for quality and i believe these are also hand made like the Genesis, I bought my amp in the UK i paid around 350 approx Rs 28,000 at the time, retail price is 550 in UK and Rs55,000 over here i believe, I would have gone for a Genesis sub amp, but they don't go down to 1ohm, as I had already purchased my subs which are 4+4ohmDVC, options were small without spending much more or gong for an amp with suspect build quality.

Also the DLS A6 put out some serious power, minimum of 1200wrms at 1ohm, probably will do over 1300wrms, which gives me good head room.

The DLS and Genesis were partener at one time. The DLS used to make the speakers and the Genesis the amps. If one googles you can find many amps with having both the logos on a single amp.

About the DLS Ultimate series and the Gensis Series 3 are quite smiliar but I would take the Genesis as better sounding one rest both the amps are quite similar looking as if made by a single manufacture.

this is why i asked stefen how you compare both dls/genesis,but comparing a 2 channel from genesis (entry level) to dls mono class A/B was little funny actually when i asked stefen the qus i didn't know that it was a mono amp.

this is what i know about genesis/dls

Genesis use to be the UK distributor of DLS and DLS use to distribute genesis amps overseas.
both kept there own names on the products but the catalogues had both products in them. Now after that point they split the partnership and went there seperate ways.
DLS designed there new A series amps to replace the genesis 3 series in there range, they that look a lot like Genesis 3 series amps BUT they are bigger and the internals and cct layout are totally different. .
genesis ice went and designed there own speaker range to compete with dls.

Ok, I have spent part of last weekend fiddling with the set up, now it's sounding quite sweet, firstly I used some foam damping material inside the tweeter cups, the highs were resonating too much because of the free space inside the cups, this itself made a huge difference to the sound from the tweets, still i wasn't happy i knew it could sound much better, then i angled the tweeters so that they would fire across the dash towards each other, as the stock mounting position on the Safari angles the tweeters slightly towards the passengers, this smoothed things out even more. Next I decided while i'm still playing around, was to retune the system, i set everything back to flat and the most crucial thing I did was switch off the media expander. Then set up the parametric eq and the time alignment, the end result is a happy dude and MrT even smiled.

The Media expander in my opinion adds too much boost to all frequency, the subs are much clearer, the mid bass is punchy and crisp, mid range is clear and highs are nicely detailed

Now I have a dilema, my profile 4 amplifier has returned after repair, this beauty puts out 2x170wrms in bridged mode or 4x55wrms, should i sell of the front components and profile 2 amp and get some different speakers which can handle 120watts or thereabouts? or go for an active front end set up and amp the rear door speakers, Mr T is telling me to go for the 1st option, the second option will cause problems as i would need to find somewhere to mount the 3rd amp, my install was supposed to be as stealthy as possible.

Give some inputs please guys

Cheers

I'd also suggest the 1st one.

Or you can also do a 3rd option
Go active on the fronts and power the rears from the HU without any 3rd amp. ( if you do not listen to it much too often)
