Default ICE for Diesel Josh

Hi Gurus,

I'm running my ikon Tdci without ice and enjoying the diesel music.
Now it think it time to change. .
Please suggest me a good ice setup .I'm a novice in this field and really finding it hard to understand the ICE jargons.Budget should be mininum and i plan for a subwoofer .The system play all ranges with good quality . I heard that HU from Pio is the good one available in market .I'm not sure about the speakers and tweeters available and which size will fit into the ikon.
Please advice.

With your budget this is what i would suggest you-
1.Jbl608c-5k
2.Blau-GTA4 Mk2-6000
3.Jbl 938-4k
4.Kenwood 5039-5k
5.Install+Wiring-2000.

Its not possible to squeeze in a sub in this budget so if you intend to buy a sub later it is better to get a HU with 3 pre outs. This one has 2.

1. Pio / Kenny HU - 5K
2. Blau MKII Amp - 5 - 5.5K
3. Components: Well you can either go for Bull Audio Components (suits your TBHP handle) up front or JBL 608C - 4.5 - 6K
4. Install + Wiring - 2 - 3K
5. JBL CS1204 / CS 1205 sub - 2500
6. Box Sealed / Ported - 1000 - 2000

You can skip the sub and go for rear speakers so add 3K for them.

Now decide what you want. Ikon can take 5x7 in front doors, so you will have to get spacer rings to accommodate the 6.5" components.

Friends,Thanks for the suggestion.
I have following doubts. please pardon my ignorance
1) Is an Amp required if no sub is being installed. will plan for a second phase.
2)what does this this preouts means. if there are 3 preouts can an amp be ignored?
In base AV HU from Pio there are 1/2 preouts.
3)What type of speakers are TS-G /TS-A series from Pio.where can this be used (front, rear?)
4)What types of speakers can be used for front doors like ,2/4 way.
5)what is 2/4way /bridgeable amp mean and how it is useful .
6)If tweeters need to be connected .can this be connected to HU?
7)What is a component system

i'll suggest you the following right now.
Hu any within 6k
Front compos jbl 608 4k
Rear fills jbl 938 3k
4 channel amp gt4mk2 6k
Wiring etc 2k

You may avoid the rear fills and go for illusions up front. 7k. Excellent compos

Let the sub come in later. It's better to wait till you have the required budget.

I would suggest the following

Pio\Kenwood HU-5K

Bull Audio components-6K

Blaupunkt GT4MKII-5K

Wiring-2K

If you have extra 4K you can add a Sub with a Box

total would be around 22K or 23K max for this good VFM set up

bullboy they all had suggested you almost the best equipment within you budget,so try and audition different brands before you buy stuff for your car.

@djnik,abhi,abhinav,akshay: you all have stated different price for gt4,the mrp of this amp is 5990/= and retails for 4800/=.

I would say go for the bare minimum.. if u r not a music fanatic.. no need of amp/sub etc. so go for a good HU.. i mean a 2-3 pre-out keeping in mind of more additions later.
a good 6*9 rear speaker and a good front compos.

so i guess
good HU - 7K
6*9 - 6K
front comps - 5K
wiring 2K

I was pretty close 6k with b/w :P

If i were you and had a 20k budget, i would avoid the Sub as of now.
Power the fronts and rears with the 4 channel.

Later get the sub , power it with 2 channels of the amp and power the rears of the Hu or get another 2 channel amp with it later on.

your budget is very low for a DVD head unit with 3 preouts.
small question why you want a DVD head unit and no need to upgrade your battery

karan, i am planning to install a lcd screen in future . y because most of the time i'll be either in the car or in the office .so need atleast some entertainment :-) . I dont want to go for a built in lcd unit as it is very expensive. So need a decent HU that can take a small lcd unit later.
