Today was a big strip job.
No, no. Not me. But the car was stripped.
All the seats came out first. Nothing exceptionally different from what we had expected. Then the carpets and mats were taken out. Lots of loose rubber (no, not latex variety), bushes, dust, drain holes which needed some quick attention came out in the open. Some could be covered up with damping materials and sorted out. Some bushes had to be changed. Critical amount of rust or deterioration wasn't found, thank god and QuickSilver.
Then, out came the doorpads.
My gawd!! A world full of unexpected golmaaal and wires sprang out. Half the world didn't know what was that for. Then we got some relays, boxes and other stuff which pointed us to a burnt and destroyed security system and automatic power window controllers. It showed signs of dried up water inside the door sills too. Hmmm....... Good that we came to know all this now, eh??

After carefully removing each and every unwanted particles, wires and dirt out, the car was now ready for damping. I have explained about the damping earlier.

Some wiring was also done today. The fuseblock and power wire was installed. Work progress is slow as I wanted.

Go for it. I personally think the lancer looks hot without the spoiler. Afterall we can now say spoilers are only for the "Look Fast" cars cant we?

: The only issue I have now. WHERE IS THE PICS?????

I am in Bangalore and the install is happening back home at Cochin. I get updates every morning and evening in full detail but haven't yet received any pics.
I have no control over it now.
The good news;
I will be flying to Cochin as soon as possible and will copy the pics from my friend's cam who is given charge of taking pics of the install.
The bad news;
He hasn't taken any pic yet.

I see you've cleverly hidden the real beef.

Good pics Zakko. Looking forward to an audition when you come down to TVM next.

It is a 4Gauge cable! A small change in plans. Then more changes. Now, there will be more changes and the power cabling will have to be re done it seems. :(

Default Damping? Yes.

:
Damping should always be good after a car is stripped to this level.

So, we decided to do a 3 layer damping in many areas.
Boot; the metal areas with dynamat, foam stuck on top as required, then finally a custom carpeting to finish off. The company provided carpets will come on top of it.
For doors; First the door insides. Then the outer frame. Then the pads.

I've got some pics. But they reveal little.

Inside parts of the boot.

My Lancer goes on an ICEy trip!-bootdoor.jpg
The boot door. This was one crucial area to damp.

My Lancer goes on an ICEy trip!-bootdoor2.jpg
Another view!

The team! Under a watchful eye!

My Lancer goes on an ICEy trip!-doordamp.jpg
The front door! Doorpads? I want it back!
