It is a sleeper. Sort of like... a reverse psychology sleeper. Someone sees the badge and goes "Hah! There goes a ricer.". Then the guy gets smoked. The look on his face? Priceless.

I think Zuhemi has used Wurth black mats for the areas where some heaviness/stiffening was required.
I've got the good news that the spoiler has been tamed. But there is some bad news from the rear bumper. One clip is broken. That will add some rattle. The clip cannot be replaced alone. The whole bumper will have to be changed.
Let's see what's in store ahead.

Try getting a used one. New one from HM cannot be cheap. Used one in good condition from a parts dealer + painting would be a good idea.

Any idea how much the Wurth mats cost?

Default The source!

My Lancer goes on an ICEy trip!-hu.jpg.
"I take a bow."

This was probably one of the biggest debated, discussed and drooled thingy in this setup.
First, it was the undisputed mass SQ favored 9887! It was accepted and approved by my mind, heart, installer and friends. Then I had the opportunity to listen to a Clarion 786. That made my mind skip a few senses and I was floored. My various instances and meetings with the infamous HXD2 only made my mind go towards a Clarion. To add to all this, there was a big Clarion 785 sweep happening in the forum. LoL!!!
But it didn't last long. Another sitting with an Alpine HU and I was back to where I belong.
Then the contemplation of the Eclipses was always playing in different tunes (No, it didn't have anything to do with the latest craze here ). But then, many of our cars in Dubai had eclipse and I was a big sucker for looks which Eclipse lacked in my eyes. Still, the thoughts of a 7200 MkII always kept lingering in my mind. I admit, I still wanna buy and own one of those.
Then, I almost picked up a very little used 9887 from a Bhpian which was up in the classifieds. For some reason, I felt I shouldn't buy a 2nd hand for this car. The 9887 was finalized as the only HU this car is ever going to have. Until now, I was not in India.
It was time to return home. I went to a very beautiful ICE showroom in Istanbul and decided to buy my HU. was the price tag impression! Home, sweet home!

One very rude fellow from Coimby who was the real force behind this car to bring it back to life, issued some orders and asked for BLING! To say the truth, BLING BLING BLING! Flying penguins, drum rolls, car chases and what not!
Haahhaha.. I decided to grant his wish and lo! A dual din dvd HU showed up.
There was a Superb install three weeks back at Emperor which had an Alpine HU called IVA 502. I was moved by the picture quality and good sound. It had the typical Alpine sound signature written all over and the looks just stole my heart. I was sold, again!

Yesterday, April 28, 2009;
I get a phone call from Zuhemi. "We will put in the 9887 instead of the IVA 502, use the money saved from that for something else which will rock this setup!"
I paused for a while ............ ............. .............
"w h a t ?" I was almost shrieking.

His answer made me fall off the chair!

I stood up slowly collecting my breath. When the eyes came back to it's full sight loosing any sudden darkness which creeped in, I yelled! Then I jumped! I just can't get back to Cochin.
Anyway, that's a big story. To cut it short;

The HU is what you see on top of this post; Alpine IVA-W502E.

To be continued when I wake up.............

I don't understand. You decided on the W502. Then Z called up and said he'll put the 9887 instead of the 502 and use the money saved to put in a... 502?

I'm all confused chetta!

If you are sticking to a 9887, I think I know where the extra money is going to be spent

Frankly, I think the 9887 will sound better than the iVA W502anyway, so this is a good thing twice over.
