Nice progress! You used cloth to cover the wooden ring to put the layers of resin?

Have some surprises for tweeter installation

But it all depends on the outcome of the component pod.

Fabulous, Shreyas!

@gill, @karankapoor, no, it looks like he has protected the ring with cardboard and alu foil. Cloth (like in Sam's thread), covered with body filler, would have given a nice surface to work with for the sides. But I am sure Shreyas would have reason not to do that, especially for the curve dip between the speaker and the XO box. This is similar to what @blueraven did for his pods in the Zen.

Waitingu, waitingu, ...

Yes there is a reason. As i mentioned earlier I am looking at a liitle perfection in what i am doing though it is my first time with FG. I didnt want a smooth finish directly like Sam. I will finish it off myself with the desired shape.

Awesome effort Shreyas. Do keep someone else with you so that pics can be taken at every stage. Useful for all DIYers.

Came back early from work to lay my hands on the pods. I missed the compos badly for the week. Sorry for the less pics and their quality.

First cut the extra FG.

My White Horse - Project BLING! BLING! BLING! - DIY ICE for Zen-p150509_19.5601.jpg

This is the first layer of body filler. Looks pathetic to me

Here is how it looks after the first layer was sanded.

I have applied the second layer and let it to dry completely. The project resumes in the morning with more sanding, painting fitting.

I haven's FG'd the door pads yet. I will test with the pods on for a day to finalise how many layers are needed on the door pads for noise free music.

I am very much in hurry to finish the project as I am hating to drive with out the front stage.

Anyone wants to help??

Its not final yet, genrally for good finish one needs to fill 2/3 layers of filler and sanding, filler>leave it to dry>sanding same process atleast 2/3 times.

maybe i am wrong shreyas can confirm
