well like aseem said the DSO function does the work of raising the soundstage in cars where the speakers are mounted low in the front doors and likewise..but it does work..and i have personally seen it working wonders in my earlier setup..so ya it can be useful at times...so its not all gimmick after all..all depends on personal taste..like aseem says he never uses it i always used to keep it on stage 3 in my zen and the same HU i.e the 5510 is being used in my alto too..there also the DSO is set to stage 3..

well its a VFM HU at that price but it does not have that great features that u can tinker around with and at 6.xx k i suggest its better to invest 2k more and get a pioneer 7750 which is bundled with great features...

The 426e at the frnt pods in a santro arent in a closed box... any ideas 2 provide a box for it. i have one... use a stainless bowl, get it bolted/screwed at the back...Navin pls dont cry reading this. I am YET 2 try this method, so relax.

and another doubt, if i do fix it so, wont teh sound be funny as in reality, i would be having a speaker in a steel box.

The sound stage is completely towards the back.
take the rear off the amp dude. you are feeding the rear fullrange speakers too much power.

do this...

run front and rear off the HU. to reduce rear level take some open cell foam and cover the back side of the rear speaker. it will reduce the rear level 2-3db and still allow the cone to breathe.

then run the amp sens to it's lowest and run the sub of the amp. if that still does not help a simple voltage diviging nework using a 10K series and 20K parallel resistor in series with the amp (between HU and amp) will drop the sens level further. in fact my wife's Blau 450 has been modified internally with such a network. since the signal levels are very small 1/4W or 1/2W resistances will do.

it wont play loud but atleast the soundstage will be coming from the front and the sound will be balanced. the limitation will be how lod the front speakers can get with the 8-10W it gets from the HU.

No man. Not like that. This office work is making me go mad. I will meet up with you within this week. I am sure all are keen on seeing my super sexy Alto with the parcel tray.

While I had been to buy a parcel tray, I was also checking out the amps. The guy showed me a Clarion amp. Anybody has any experience with them?

Inside the dashboard, there is space provided for a 4 inch speaker. That is just where the windshield and corner pillar (or whatever it is called) meet.

not really Sam. I have done this sort of thing.

odd objects i have used for enclosures with surprisingly good results.

1. Tabla for a 5" midbass (Scan Speak 15W 8530)
2. Table for 8" midbass from Eminence had to modify the Fs by increasing Mms but was usable.
3. Earthen pots for 4.5" car speaker (coax).
4. Stainless steel cup about 3 liters volume for small 3" midbass/midrange.

all these enclosures had 3 features the CCTB did not

1. non parallel surfaces
2. stiff
3. were sized as per guidelines set by Richard Small and Edgar Vilchur.
