I will do this away from the amp and speakers so that the electromagnet formed does not foul up things.
Sirji not required as the devices are having them inbuilt.

What about the choke then? Is the choke used similar to one which is used in tubelights?

Could be capacitors across from the Power line to ground.

Could be balun in line with the power line (not the one that is used to make chapatis :lol)

Sure, @LBM, will definitely do that one day soon. Will need to condition myself, though (like for climbing Mt.Everest):
1. Take training for escaping from cars with child lock on doors
2. Condition my ears for SPL
3. Reach 0.6 of the SQ appreciation levels of Navin, you, B&T, Sam, Gunbir, etc. etc. (I am at 0.4 and it is an uphill climb)

Hmm not required as the air for the enclosure port is quite fresh and travels at MACH speed.

My ICE woes continue :-(

U guys may remember I was not happy with the bass response of my setup and was advised get the speakers checked for being out of phase... anyway, I was down with viral fever for a week and didn't get the time to do that yet... planning to get that done this weekend.

Meanwhile, the system conked out day before yesterday... suddenly the music was replaced by a very loud tut-tut-tut-tut noise (the closest i can describe it is that it sounds a bit like machine gun fire ) I immediately switched it off for fear of damaging the speakers... tried it again yesterday and it started off fine, only for the noise to return after about 5 mins of playing. Now there's no music at all... only noise!!

Any ideas what's causing this?

Tia

Check all connections esp the speaker connections. I would open it all up and plug it all together again. Does your system have an amp?
