Default Advice on Clarion DPX11551 Mono Amplifier

Wondering if anyone as used or tested the Clarion Mono amp which is rated at 1550 watts RMS.

Just have my doubts as its available for very low price., i.e., $199.

The link is

Clarion DPX11551 Mono subwoofer amplifier — 1550 watts x 1 at 2 ohms at Crutchfield.com

Thanks in advance.

Well it comes from one of the best design house in the industry. It's similar to Arc Audio Mini/Ks series. It's a GH CLASS amp. The Clarion amps are manufactured in 2007 and are discontinued now. For a 1500Rms amp one would not find any better deal than this.

Yes, it was available just 2 days back :(

The $179 is because of the discount code at crutchfield.

How is the Alpine MRP - M500. It is available under 10k now.

This amp used to retail for $699 but no one was ready to spend that money so they reduced the price to 199 and then to 179 with the help of the code
.
Do this amp have any internal fuse ?

No internal fuse on this one. You need to have an inline 200A fuse near the battery. I put a 150A for the time, but have a 200 A fuse coming in the mail anytime soon now.
It's a LEVIATHAN. I would have paid $300 for it as well.
Imagine, 1550W of PURE RMS power @ 2 ohms. Only drawback is that it's not 1 ohm stable. But, when you have 850W @ 4 ohm, no one is complaining.

Only Question is does it produces the rated power ? if yes then it is/was a great deal @ the price 179 x 50=8950+6000(shipping+duty+kd)=14950/= approx 10 Rupee per watt.

Its still available at dealercostcaraudio and a couple of other sites for 340-400$. But that makes it expensive to import.

I also ordered it for $199~14k via KMD. Would be receiving it in some days. Guess i am one of the last people to get that amplifier from crutchfield.
