what do you people suggest. i am complete n00b in this area, if you guys can tell me the model names with approx prices that will be really helpful . and in 3-4 months time i may add a 4channel amplifier to the setup.

i am not really interested in sub, so speakers 2 in the front and 2(6x9) in the back will do just fine. i mostly listen to rock, trance and some punjabi tracks.

thanks,
Rahul
Hi Rahul,

Congrats on the new car and welcome to the FIAT family. I have a similar setup in my Palio. Have a look here:

hey people this is what i have in my 1.6 stile
HU SONY CDX 860 [USB]
FR. EARTHQUAKE VTEK MC-5 COMPO
RR. EARTHQUAKE VTEK 693
no after using it for 2 months or so i've decided to go in for an amp. considering i'll almost never go in for a sub in future.
have eyed JBL and EARTHQUAKE both and was a little biased towards the latter one.pls suggest
also i did not see anyone recommending
EARTHQUAKE'S is really bad ,expensive or hard to find or something else.
after going thro i thought i had made i mistake but i feel complete opposite when i listen to it play.
also i did audition all the leading brands and found this package suited my needs well.
correct me if i am wrong pls

Earthquake is not expensive. On the contrary, it is very cheap.

I would completely stay away from Earthquake speakers. They are very poor, to say the least.

If you liked them, what are you worrying about. Since you say you have auditioned many brands but liked it the best, stick with it.

Now how do I explain this to you..hmm... Ok, let's take the example of a die-cast basket 6x9 speaker. Look around the market and let me know the price for the cheapest 6x9 speaker with this particular feature.

Likewise, try to get the lowest price for a 1000 watts rms (as advertised) monoblock amp or a die-cast basket 800 watts rms sub.

Hi Michael Schume, I would have given the Earthquakes a pass at the price I assume you bought them for. If I were on a budget I would choose the JBL 937's available without official warranty (I didn't mention grey market because B&T's first reaction will be that they are Black and Silver and Orange of course). I have heard some Earthquake 6x9's with Reddish cones when I was comparing them with the JBL 936's to install in my cousins Santro. Needless to say I picked up the JBL's.

Thats exactly my point, buddy.

You can get Vtek 6x9s for about 4k with bill and warranty, if you search/ bargain really hard. Its a cast basket 6x9 with silk dome tweeter, glass fiber cone. Try and find some other speaker with a cast basket and dome tweeter. Will cost atleast twice as much with bill. That is the basis for comparison. Earthquake is super cheap. Not that it sounds better, but cheap it sure is.

Default Fiat Palio Stile Sport Wot AA-D-O Cistem to buy

Forgive my dirty english, tried imitating some local goon who was interviewed in a news channel last week.

To the issue,

Hi Bhpians, me bought a palio stile sport. Wud luv ur suggestions on the audio pack

My budget is around 15 to 17k, and 15 is my lucky number .

I was looking at Blaupunkt or Sony Xplod (in the order of preference). I was under the impression that both the Stereo and the speakers come together. But some guru gyan (must be PhD in Automotive Accessories) imparted that these are separate. For 15k you will get Blaupunkt stereo w/o speakers. and add another 5 for speakers.

Question No.1: Is the guy a real guru gyan or some [C.E.N.S.O.R.E.D.] thug?

Question No.2: Be a real Guru Gyan and advice me, coz the same guru gyan informed me that Blaupunkt does not play home recorded MP3 Players, it will play only original CDs etc. Couldn't believe that crap (but since i am a car newbie, elephants have wings! don't they).

Me being at Chennai, also suggest me some gud shops for making my purchase.

Thnx a ton in advance.

Cheers
