Doesn't matter. What matters is that you are led to the right information - T-BHP is the right place for that

Go to the Blaupunkt India website and locate the authorized dealer / brand shop in Chennai. Make some MP3 CDs of your own. Go to the dealer and see whether they play or not.

For 15K, you should be able to get a decent Blaupunkt HU AND a pair of components in front AND a pair of coaxes in the rear, with b&w.

Smile Palio Stile 1.6 ICE

Hi,
Here is my setup.

HU - Pioneer DEH6050UB (Rs.8500/-)

Rear - Polk Audio db691 6"x9" (Rs.6300/-)

Front - Polk Audio db5251 5-1/4" (Rs.8200/-)

Amp - Sony Xplod XM-ZR604 4/3 Channel (temp) (stole from bro's car)
Polk Audio PA500.4 (4/3/2 channels) - will buy soon. Saving up.

Wiring - OEM. Saving up for Tsunami

With my current setup I don't need a Sub. The bass output is amazing plus the mids and highs are reproduced beautifully. I am happy I made the Polk choice. Simply amazing performance they give.

Refer Polk Audio! Innovative choices for home, car and marine

Congratulations for the setup. Where is the tweeter mounted?
I hope the prices are with bill and warrenty.
I have heard those rear ovals. They are quite loud!
Enjoy your music

The tweeters are mounted just below the ORVM joystick. The panel is a snap fit and the tweeter sat without any problem.

Default Palio 1.3 MJD Rear & Front speaker Issue

Hi I got a new Red Palio 1.3 MJD last month, planing to get the Palio ICE'd this weekend, what will be the best speaker combination

1. Front Component (JBL) +Rear Oval 3 way (6x9) JBL

2. Front normal round speakers + Rear components JBL

3.Front normal round speakers + Rear normal round speakers

I am more keen on retaining the factory fitted plastic setup in the rear rather than placing a wooden plank for a 6x9 oval speakers.

HU will be either a Pioneer or Kenwood with USB in

Any suggestions are welcome.

My vote for option 1 provided you have no intentions for an amp and sub for now.

You missed a 4th combination:

4. Front components (JBL, Blau, Illusion etc.) + Rear normal round speakers in the rear doors

I think instead of saying "Rear normal round speakers", you should consider "Rear round 2 way coaxials".

This would give good sound in front, and quite acceptable sound in the rear without having to replace your OE parcel tray.

Please do take time to audition the speakers, etc. before taking a buying decision.

Experts, what is your opinion of the following planned setup for MJD?
(I want to pull-in by 25k)

Head unit - Pio 6050 - 13.8k
polk - db525 - 4.4k
polk - db691 - 5k (or db690 for 3750/-)
MDF - 750/-

Total - 23,950/- (all inclusive, installation etc.)

All the above are with B&W.

Earlier I was contemplating front compos(db5251 - 7k). But, general advice has been not to opt for compos unless one plans to drive them with AMP. Hence I'm thinking of co-ax. Do you guys disagree?

Going for a decent amp and front compos would certainly make things better and will shoot the budget by another 6-8k. How about going for such setup and saving a little bit by opting for Pio-5090 (9-9.5k with B&W). (But I love the 6050 display)

I know that 6050 can probably be obtained for 9-9.5k in grey. But this one carries 2yr warranty and one yr theft insurance. Hence I made up my mind to pick up the official one.

Thanks a lot guys. You guys rock.

Hi @yttyare, sounds good, but did you audition the stuff that you intend to buy? Highly recommendable that you audition and compare before settling for a brand / model.

I did listen to db691 connected to Pio-3090 and liked it. So, assumption was that the 6050 would sound better. I need to listen to front co-ax/comp though. I haven't found them anywhere to listen to. My comparison was with JBL (don't remember the model number).

Dude,

Good choice! Polk all the way.

I have set up db691 on the rear and db 5251 at the front. I did not have an amp for the first 2 months. My 6050 did the job very well. Of course after stealing my bro's Xplod amp them speakers sound much better now.

Just a friendly Polk advice db 525 is a good buy. But I would advice db5251. Of course you have to shell out about 4k more. You won't even need a sub with the set up you have chosen. Save up and buy a decent amp and wiring. Your ICE will SOUND !
