That's a cool price for JBL 1004. I was quoted 12k here in Chandigarh couple of months back. Do checkout Technocrat's thread on installing Illusion 4.1. You might want to seal any gaps in the dash where the speakers will be mounted, will help in improving the mid-bass response slightly.

Thanks guys for the suggestions.

Local accessory guy was suggesting to go for below config. As per him this will be a decent setup for a car like Spark, Tried to check it yesterday but amp had some tech probs.

GT5 S644 4ch amp - Rs.6000 with b&w
GT5 S12 Sub - Rs.3800 with b&w
Sub box - Rs.1000
Wiring - Scotche(?) Rs.2000
RCA Cable - Rs.600
Speaker wire - Rs.450
Installation Charge - Rs.450

Total Approx 14K

My 2 cents - I do not see much sense in rear speakers. After all, at home you get good sound from a 2 channel set up, and don't need music coming at you from behind. Focus on getting good sound to come at you from front and use the money saved by not having rears to get that done better.

Not a good comparison. At home, one doesn't have rear seat passengers either LOL. The same 2 speakers at home are able to produce a semblance of 'surround' due to the walls - which is something that only the front speakers in a car cannot.

For a car that is usually occupied by just two, I find that the rears are dispensable. I ought to have specified that. And for music, one does not need surround, one needs just the sense of a soundstage.

Keep your rear speakers if you have them and power them from the HU. Just ensure that they do not over whelm your components. Also factor in the installtion of your Electra components in your installation charges. Go for the JBL 1004 if you can, it should be better than the GT5 S644. But I have heard that 1004 is no longer available.

I would like to go for JBL 1004& GZ 30T based on the feedback. But not heard any car with this config and is out of my (planned) budget. I can extend my budget if this config is good, but system should not be an overkill!!!. I am not the kind of guy who would like to wake up the neighbourhood at 6AM/11PM :-)). It should sound good inside thats it.

I am planning to go to EVO tomorrow for comp installation. Will check these options and with them!

I am sure you do not want to keep upgrading for ever and so get the best possible at the very first time. Atleast thats what I believe in, saves a lot of heart ache and money in the long run.

Dont worry you will not be waking any neighborhoods with your equipment. Better power will only make your components and sub run really clean.

@Latheesh
See if you can audition a Blaupunkt Gtw1200 sub somewhere. In my opinion, its one of the best entry level sub and highly underrated for reasons unknown to me.
Yes, it won't go loud but if you are looking for a SQ sub and IN car entertainment, its a perfect choice! I've played Drum-n-Bass, UK Garage, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Rock and almost every genre (except trance maybe) and the bass from the sub is natural and smooth.
Hope this helps!

Got IL4.1 fitted yesterday @ EVO. There is a difference in sound quality comparing to DCX100 but I was expecting more :-))) Is there anything I need to do in bass/treble/fader/mid setting to get the best output??

You will not be getting much bass from your components but I am sure the highs and mids will be much better now. Now to really improve on this you need to have the sub woofer fitted asap. See the difference then.
