Default Clarion VX709

BHPians,

I am in process of acquiring a new 2-Din Multimedia unit for my 1.6S.

I am more inclined to the sound quality of the Alpine/Clarion. The Alpine 2-Din costs a bomb, but the Clarion VX709 looks more affordable and loaded with specs.

I am unable to find any reviews on this specific Clarion 2-Din.

Is there any reviews or anyone who has been using the VX709. Or in general how are Clarion when it comes to reliability & durability!?

Try Kenwood also. They are really good.

Anachronix, I am unable to help you out with your question, but how much is the VX 709? Are you picking it up in America? Are you planning to upgrade the Fiesta speakers as well?

Got this info from Amazon (US). Its available from 580$ + Shipping. With the Christmas time coming up, there might be lot of better deals!

I will be doing a complete upgrade of the ICE (speakers included), sometime in Jan 10' and now I am in process of getting all the logistics. Have to decide on the speakers soon!

The VX709 is a $800 machine. To get it for under $600 is good but make sure the deal is real. Also note that it cannot tune even number freq like 91.0 or 94.6 only odd freq like 93.5 and 100.1.

It is chock full of features but I could not find any Time Alignment on it. TA is something even $300 HUs have and for a $800 HU (ok this one is DVD capable and more but even still) to not have TA is not forgiveble.

I did get to see it but did not listen to it at length. One issue I have with these full screen HUs is that in bright daylight (common in India) the screen gets washed out and you cant see the display.

The other options in this space are the JVC 820, Alpine 203, Pio 4100, Sony W1 etc.

@ Navin, thanks for that

Alpine IVA-W203/P1 is costing almost the same as the Clarion VX709!

I am unable to find the time alignment feature in the spec sheet! Does the Alpine W203 have this feature!?

That must be the deal of the century.
Btw, do justice to the 9887 and get nice speakers, amps, etc.
