Sorry if I the question is noobish, why a 4 channel if I only want to run a sub with the amp?

some degree of future proofing, when you will want to add comps too.
Trust me, the day is not far off

How true, I was thinking of buying a pair of Bull comps after a few months.

But the only thing pull backs me from a 4 channel amp is the money.

Which is the cheapest 4 channel amp?

the Kenwood KAC 8401 was among the most bang for buck amps I've heard. Too bad its discontinued. Look for kenwood options

Angry Problem

In the afternoon I went to Alappuzha for a small meet with trrk. During the journey my Blau HU started giving problems. It skips within track and some time even the full track.

I had similar problem one year back and changed the eye of the player. It cost me nearly 1000rs.

A usb port will be more reliable than a cd reader. Is there any way to add a usb interface to my current HU? (other than the FM transmitter, it destroys the sound quality)

Okay thanks, I'll ask them about the price.

I found the price to be nearly 3.5k while searching through the net. KAC-6203 is nearly 4-4.5k. I can extend upto that for the amp if the 6203 is good but for that money.

green horn,
My eye of HU is 50% gone. Should I change the eye or may look for a new HU with usb port (i don't like cds to carry around).

Team-BHP Classifieds - 1 Month OLD Alpine CDE 9870 ET MP3 Player with iPod cable - Powered by PhotoPost Classifieds
My current HU ( plus Ipod cable) doesnt have USB/AUX, but SQ is sooper . You can always add an ipod if you want.

Team-BHP Classifieds - Eclipse CD5100 - Powered by PhotoPost Classifieds
great option if you want have a bigger budget

else if you want to buy local, stick to alpine(my choice) /kenwood
Alpine HU's have a stronger internal amp, and decent SQ
Kewood Hu's output levels are also okay(slightly lower), and SQ is on par
Both will outperform any low/mid range pio HU

1st one doesn't have a usb port, which is the prime concern to me.
2nd one out of budget

In future (may be this year) I may go for another hatch,
So, I don't want to spend too much for HU. Or may be i'll change the eye of my blau.

So finalizing my choice

1. Bull Sub
2. Kenwood 5203 or 6203 (according to the price and availability)
3. Local wiring+enclosure

Anybody know the price for that 5203 and 6203?
