The Sony 552/554 amps are a bit harsh for me. The Kenwood 84xx, Balu GT4, JBL 60.4 and Pio 6300 might be better bets. on the other hand since you already have a 504 why not get a monoblock for the sub and use the 504 for the front and rear?

Sorry, I did'nt get this monoblock thing. Do you mean a 2 channel amp ?

By the way my current setup was through a discussion on this same forum where you and Sam had contributed way back in 2005 and it has been working great.

Ok, I am quoting my previous question ( on monoblock). Got to know that it is some thingy which is a single channel powering only the Sub. But lord it costs 3 times the cost of a basic Sony Amp at Rs 12000/- upwards. not for me. May go for a 502 amp Rs 3500/- or so.

monoblocks are more expensive but there are a few that are a bit cheaper than 12K. Still even the cheapest good monoblock will cost twice that of the Sony 502.

The discontinued Pio D510 was a great option. I am not aware of the currnet models or prices. Ask the Gurus.
