Guys:

One of my friends' car boasts of GTO 948 powered by HU 4250SD. The output is precise & it has got that small thump more than that of 947, only if you listen keenly you can actually make it. But there is no world of difference from the predecessor 947, I find it all the more same with some minute difference which is negligible. Am ain't an audio freak, may be experts can make out the difference. Am really interested in knowing more about GTO 948 as well. Keep the thread going!!

I also actually heard them and found the 948 to be a little higher on the base. Will create a separate thread once my install is done.

Default How to register my JBL 948?

Hi,

I bought Pio 2290, JBL GTO608c and JBL GTO948 (limited edition).
Everything with B/W. I liked the sound quality .

I saw the Pioneer Manual and it mentions it should not be used with speaker of 1-3 Ohm impedance.

JBL speakers spec says they have 2 ohm. However on the box I saw that there is a symbol that mentions 4Ohm OK. What does it mean? Is this fine to be used with my HU Pio 2290UB?

The dealer gave me his bill and the JBL warranty card with his showroom seal. I saw that warranty card says register online. But when I try to register online it asks for warranty card no. which I dont find anywhere. I tried to enter the serial number below the bar code but it does not accept.
Everything seams genuine since the boxes have holograms and imported by Sahil International sticker.
can anyone help regarding warranty registration?

Thank.

Hi, I have recently upgraded to GTO 948 from GTO 937. I didnt find much difference in the sound output and feel GTO 947 (black mat finish) looks more sportier than the GTO 948 limited edition.

Anyway I have done the upgrade at EVO (Blueravens store), Bangalore. So I feel there will be something good if this is recommended by Blueraven.

Finally got them installed on my car. Love the speakers to death. They have great bass and hold up well at higher volumes and they look great too.

The 948s are pretty powerful speakers and seem to overpower the front comps if not tuned right. Found them a little too bright for my tastes, even after using the little button. The eq settings on my Hu for the high freqs are at -2.
Detailed mids and a punchy bass characteristic, sure make these speakers a 'good VFM buy' and very hard to ignore.

I got Alpine HU driving Infinity Reference series. I found them to be better than GTOs, more specifically.. with respect to bass.

I agree with you totally. They are a little low on bass . But I again feel their character is to be more bright.
I personally like them a lot.

Hey guys, If I drive the JBL GTO 948 off the HU, will it give a decent sound output? And BTW, does the 948 produce good thump?

Base Level Bass is good in GTO 948. Listen to that once and decide. Its a good pair.

I'm not much of an audiophile but my friends are.
They reviewed the speakers in my car and said it was providing good bass for a set of 6X9. I really love the bass though.
