People are strange... There is a two part warranty card, one part comes back to the distributor. You would be surprised, only 25% of our warranties get registered. How dumb is that?
By the way, is that a GTO936e picture in your avatar?

Yups....... switched to JBL yesterday.

Actually I guess its more of a faith thing... These guys are good enough to change the spaekers if you have a problem. Never ask for a bill or warranty. I think this behavior is courtesy the distributors only. If a distributor asks for a warranty registration before replacing equipment, it'd filter down to the consumer.

My iinstaller fills my card and mails them in for me. All installers should. He even sends someone over to my place to pick up his check so i'm spared a visit.

You have a good installer. One that knows what he does. Most people are so used to selling grey market crap, for them this is an unnecessary headache.

I like him because in most cases he will follow instrunctions and on the oft chance he does not he is willing to absorb the cost of recitification. then again my instructions are very very specific often written with wiring sketches so he has little excuse. any installer will behave if they find the customer cares too.

he refused to charge me for my wife's car install because it was not done right the 1st 2 times.

Hey navin....thanks very much for this thread....was wondering if simpletons had a place here!
Grateful if I cud get some advice on a simple mp3player/radio with 4speakers (2in front and 2in rear) for less than 10k. to be fitted in my new indica. Also the best positioning for the speakers (doors?).
Secondly after hearing about the horrors of bad wiring am wondering if any relaible contacts available for fitting in mumbai apart from the showroom guys?

Cheers!

a HU+4 speakers for 10K is very diffcult. 14K might just cut it.

The cheapest good speakers that many of my friends have prefered over others are tie JBL CS range. They will cost you about 5K for 2 pairs. A good HU from Blaupunkt or Sony will cost yo about 7K. That adds up to 12K. A little more for install and wires should do it.

Indica's stock door location can take in 5.25" size speakers. For bigger size u have to slightly modify ur door which u dont want.

So i wud advice u to have coaxial speakers on all 4 doors so that u dont have to modify anyhting and coax will be cheaper solution.

For abt 10-11k....

Front & rear coax 6-7k [from JBL,Hertz,blaupunkt,pio]
HU with 1preout 5k [kenwood,blau]

wire+install 500

All Sony and with b&w with 2yrs warranty. Cost me 11.2k. Got it done at Khoslas near Milan Subway who are the authorised dealers for Sony.
Would like to thank all the Bhpians for their valuable inputs . Thank you guys!
