Default Reverse camera TFT screen cable interfering with Radio reception

I have a reverse camera in the safari, the cable of which passes close to antenna.
If I disconnect the TFT(mounted on RVM), the radio reception gets noticeably better.
I am thinking of wrapping an aluminum foil around the TFT cable(which carries power and video). Will this help, or I should look at other angles

i will watch this thread....this could be a revelation if its true...I have been facing issues with Radio reception since my earlier days .....I had got both the Audio system and reverse camera fitted together and hence never doubted that there could be anything like this...

Will test this tomorrow morning first....

The cable is not the culprit (it is shielded), the display embedded in the RVM is. The radio antenna is just behind the RVM, right?

Try covering the rear of the RVM with alu foil, but I think you will have to figure out some way of grounding the alu foil, without which it will not be effective. Perhaps thin copper sheet will be better instead of the alu foil - at least you will be able to solder a wire to it which can be connected to the nearest grounding point.

The antenna is active and is grounded through the HU.
As for the cable, its not shielded.
As for TFT, the disturbance is there even when I have not supplied reverse signal(forward motion of vehicle).
Since screen is always on, just that display does not come on when the car is not in reverse gear, I suspected current through the cable was the problem,
Anyways, I will try to find a copper sheet.
I was hoping a metal foil will work like a faraday cage or something.

Try using a shielded cable. Or try wrapping it in aluminium foil if it is not shielded.

Correct, that's the basic idea. The shielding is ineffective unless grounded, but foil is difficult to bond to a wire. The camera video cable would be shielded, and the power cable would only cause intermittent disturbance. The LED backlight is off normally (comes on when you engage reverse), but the rest of the LCD electronics is on all the time.

Try out with alu foil - if it solves the problem, replace it with copper sheet for a more permanent solution.

Tanveer, DA is right. 2-3mm copper sheet is perfect for this.
