Thumbs up 25k ICE setup for my esteem.

Dear fellow members,
i was planning to upgrade my ice setup. my budget is 25k +/- 5k.
here is what my local car audio stor suggested me.
Everything is B/W.

1. Pioneer HU - DEH-4190SD Rs.7600
2. Front PolkAudio DB-401 4" speakers. Rs.2600
3. Rear Infinity 693 96x9) Rs.4900
4. Hertz 2 Ch. EP2 Amp Rs.6050
5. JBL Bass Tube Rs.3500
6. Audision Ampkit Rs.2650

i want a crisp sound system. Quality is important . the bass should be tight.

in esteem we can go only for 4" speakers in the front as they are mounted in dash.
rear i have 2 6x9 and one 10" sub.
i had cut a hole for my old pioneer 10" sub in rear parcel tray.
now planning to get a enclosed sub and cover the hole with a grill.

please suggest your expert suggestions.
awaiting your responses

regards
vikram.

HU-Eclipse CD3100MKII (although does not have USB support but comes with 3 4v pre-outs and far better sound quality as comapared to Pio)-9k

If you can afford to modify your front door-panels then you can go for 6.5" compos

It can be Illusion EL6.1
DLSB6RA
Alpine
Hertz Base line series
-7k

For Sub
Go for Enclosed 12" or 10" Sub JBL or GZ-6.5k

For Amp
You can go for 4channel amp
JBL S644
Blau GTA4MRII
Pioneer
-8k

For Wirring you can go for GZ wiring kit-2.5k

So at the end of the line your budget has been exceeded by roughly 3k

i was thinking of following config.
HU Pioneer DEH-4190Sd
Front PolkAudio DB-401 4" speakers ( not keen on modification)
Rear Infinity Kappa 6x9 will be driven by my old Sony 222amp
Amp- Hertz 2ch EC4 only for sub
sub Polk Audio or JBL 12" enclosed

how this sound.
Eclipse is not available in nashik.
i like Pioneer interface and its with 2yrs warranty.

If you are able to get a 10" Polk then nothin like but I think 8" polk sub in esteems trunk wont suffice.
And instead of going for 4" polk coax why dont you go for 4" Illusion compos? It will definably sound much better and give better front imaging to.

I have heard Polk coax on pioneer unit and i felt the treble was too high and irritating. That is after keeping the grafic eq flat and SLA to 0

The sound stage will be from the rear and trust me your rear will over power the front,

So what you can do is put a 10/12" sub in the rear parcel tray and trust me your sony 222 can give you a clean and crispier bass this way. If i was you i would get compos for the front and install them in the doors, the stock location sounds pathetic.

Put a descent set of coax speakers in the rear not very expensive ones and then finally put a JBL 12" Sub in the rear tray powered with a 2 channel amp bridged, buy a descent 4 channel amp and power the front compos and the rear coaxs.

Get the rear tray and front door damped with some good sound deadners.

Get a HU with 3 pre outs and your setup will rock your world @ less than 20K

Music is not about expensive setup, its about what you like and what exactly you want interms of sound quality. I assumed you like a setup with more bass (since you wanted a bass tube) so i suggested this

Front: Run 6.5s on the door. With amplification, they'll sound a hundred times better and the mids will rock.
Amp: Hertz EP4.
Use 2-channels for the front and the bridged for the sub.
Btw, Polk dB series is bad.

thanks guys for your inputs,
my main bottleneck is that i am not going to install speakers in the door panels!
so should i go for
1.4" illusion comps in front
2.infinity kappa in rear powered by my sony 222
3. 10/12" sub with enclosure in rear driven by Hertx EP2
4. Pioneer HU
or
1.4" illusion comps in front driven by EP4
2.infinity kappa in rear powered by EP4
3. 10" sub on parcel tray driven by old sony 222
4. Pioneer HU

which is a good open air 10" sub?

regards vikram

Here's what a certain frank member said, long long ago:

And then what happened eventually:

Today, he swears by 6.5s:

Get the head unit of your choice, not much difference on it (50wx4)

2- components for the front (makes a huge difference to the quality of sound, and you will love it if you are the driver most of the time)

Amplifier ( THIS IS WHAT WHICH MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE ) you need to really spend on a good amp. Get a four channel min of 1000W

2- 6inch speakers

10inch sub woofer
