Default Carputer for Swift - ROAD KING VS SSAS-SUZUKI1003 - Need Advice!!!

I have decided to install a Carputer for my Swift, After Research and a recommendation from a friend, I am stuck with 2 models, can BHP Gurus here help me to finalize on these:

1. ROAD KING 7

Buy Road King 7 Inch High-Def Car DVD Player with GPS and DVB-T [SSCVGX-C39]

2. Suzuki Swift SSAS-SUZUKI1003

Buy Suzuki Swift, GPS, TV, DVD, Bluetooth, 7" Touchscreen [SSAS-SUZUKI003]

Both has GPS, DVD, Cameras, Touchscreen LCD and more.... hardly there is a difference of ~$65 b/w both. Can Gurus tell me what are the difference between these 2 in terms of specification and functionality and which one will be better ?

Those are DVD Players and not carputers.

for most customized carputer which actually has all features of a music system, personal computer, GPS, video, cam view from back of your car, you would need to built a PC instead of buying any such DVD Systems.

Checkout the D.I.Y. Section, you'll find more info than you need to start your car PC project.

Since this "computer" runs Windows CE OS, most of the PC software would not run on it (E.g. Browsers, Google Earth etc).

However, its a good device if you want to use it with softwares that come with it or with GPS navigation (most of them would work on Windows CE).

Compare this device to features capable on a D.I.Y. carputer, you'll find out why everyone took the pains to built their own.

The 2nd one - Suzuki Swift - seems to be a better unit, despite the fact that it has a smaller screen. Since it is Win CE based, it will be very easy to add MapMyIndia or SatGuide software / maps on it. Not sure about doing the same in the first one. [BTW, this one IS a carputer, though most people who would run regular MS Windows (XP, Vista, 7) wouldn't agree].

This is a South African website - are you sure you want to get it from here?

I won't suggest a Carputer/CarPC if you are not into DIY. I believe, other Carputer users would aggree with me.

its best to buy things like this using win CE if you don't want some pain with carputer builds.

just confirm the audio and radio reception quality before finalizing. looks good fit also.

whats the final landed cost of such units and reliability?

Such units are available for 15 - 35k. MMI and Satguide also sell these in India.
