1.8" Tilting LCD
1. SLR Shooting - Because a normal SLR cannot offer a live LCD view, the user is forced to raise the camera to their eye to compose a picture. This is one of the four shooting positions offered by the S9500. With a DSLR it is only one.
2. Eye Level Shooting - The S9500's live LCD view allows the user to keep both eyes on the scene. For portraits, this permits better eye contact with the subject, whilst fast action is easier to follow without the camera obscuring the view.
3. Overhead Shooting - Gaining an overhead viewpoint is no longer guesswork. Simply tilt the LCD downwards and creative angles become a matter of precision.
4. Low Level Shooting - Often, the most dramatic viewpoints are from below a subject. Also, macro (close-up) photography often involves the camera being below the photographer. Once the S9500's LCD has been tilted upwards, this is no longer a neck-straining experience.
ISO
Where the S9500 scores over its compact digital competitors is its ability to cope with all lighting conditions. You will find that the ISO range of 80 - 1600 means that there is almost no limit to the time of day you shoot.
VGA Movie Capture
Digital SLRs cannot offer movie capture, possibly the most underrated capability of digital cameras. Not only does the S9500 give VGA recording at 30 frames per second (TV standard capture), but it also offers the rare distinction of being able to use the zoom manually during recording.

Turn the S9500 on and it's ready to shoot in under a second. As for being able to react to the moment, the S9500 holds its own with Digital SLRs by locking focus extremely swiftly, and giving an almost imperceptible 0.01 second shutter lag.
Real Photo Technology
Most people think that picture quality is all about the number of pixels. In fact, the quality of pixels plays the biggest role, and the S9500 delivers on both quality and quantity. The Super CCD sensor design has long been a distinguishing feature on the best FinePix cameras, and the S9500 take this to new levels. Phenomenal detail, accurate colour and impressive tonal range will leap out of images from the S9500. In particular, the images taken at low sensitivity settings will display non-existent noise levels, whilst the high sensitivity settings will permit you to get the shot you need, at a quality that will surprise you.
