but its not written on the chassis - Made In China and I bought it a while back at Westside - you cant get Defender Scale Models at Auto Art or anywhere - I even looked for them in England and got a Landrover Defender Pickup version from Corgi as well as a bunch of tiny little landrovers in a boxed set from Hamleys - but frankly none of these are as good as what one used to get around 30-35 years ago - the ones my Dad used to bring me as a kid were first class - all made in England those days by Lesney toys!

cheers
how much do you roughly spend on your models? hamleys is quiet expensive

yes I agree Hamleys is a bit expensive - maybe 10-15 GBP per Boxed set and about 6-9 GBP for individual models. But worth every penny - I love that shop. Usually spend hours there whenever I do go.
but if you ask me, while say,AutoArt little models are about 600 odd bucks, their detailing is so good that they are worth it.
unfortunately they never seem to have the landrovers and other jeep type models available -most of those are chinese made and available in less exclusive brandnames.
but for me, if it looks attractive and has reasonable attention to detail I dont mind buying. My wife also gives me quite a few as gifts now and then, since she is good enough to indulge these interests of mine!
cheers

Default Some of my Landrover Defenders

these are some of the landrover defenders Ive got models of
the Corgi Blue one is a classic - 1960's pickup type used by farmers in the UK and one of only 3000 pieces ever made.

the little multicoloured set from hamleys contains several different adaptations of the defender and the little blue and white ones are todays variety frm matchbox

Default Some classic cars

here are some classics - lancia, aston martin and Jag!
the lancia aurelia 1951 which comes in Tintin - The Calculus Affair, the Lancia Flaminia 1960 - one of the most beautiful and evocative shapes ever! Bought these models at the Lancia Centenary celebrations in London last September - fantastic line up including the car Mussolini used to stand up in and shout his Fascist Speeches from!
Amazing experience - there was even a Lancia Stratos which was so classy you cant believe it!

then there is the beautiful Aston Martin DB5 - James Bond Special Edition
and that lovely Jag!

hey you know what
since you are in sharjah go over to the mall ibn battuta in dubai (the mall that has ancient chinese, egyptian and so on) and go to a shop there called scuderia ferrari
you will see some superb getups there - original driver kits, goggles etc and some scale models which are mouthwatering
also some classic and cult dvds of aston martin, landrover and so on

worth visiting

probably - my credit card was charged to Scuderia Ferrari with all the stuff I bought there thats why I thought that was the name. At any rate as you come out of that shop and turn left, they have that HUGE ship as a centre piece if I remember right.
But that shop has some brill stuff - I like it a lot.
cheers
