Is Palio 1.6 back in production n readily available now??
Drove a palio 1.2 fantastic ride quality with soft suspensions but not great handling with lot of body roll ..... is the suspension setup different in palio 1.6 which improves its handling...

the 1.6 has better suspension setup than the 1.2

the ride and handling are completely in a different league for the 1.6 with the different suspension setup, 14" alloys and tubeless tyres(correct me....)

1.6 is anyday a scorcher which gives 10kmpl with a light foot in the city.

@ devarshi - they never had tubeless not even the 1.6, dont know about now but before they never came with them.

dats wat the quotation I received from tej motors said once. I got a quotation for a fully loaded palio gtx with ABS,Airbags,EBD, tubeless, cd 6 speakers system, leather and all for around 6.23 on road.

Please confirm

Coming to the suspension of the 1.6 GTX,

I was driving a Ford Escort before I got the GTX. I guess the escort had 185/80 rubbers. The car had a magic carpet ride sort of. I could cruise at 80 kmph with the music on and not feel a thing abuot how the road below me is.

Then I started driving the GTX. For the first few days I would often stop the car and check if I had a puncture! The ride was so hard that it took me a long while getting used to. Especially since I was so used to the ford.

Even mine came with tube type tyres back in 2003. Could be Fiat has now started selling the Gtx with tubeless tyres.

maybe the dealer was tryin to be shady with me or the salesman was himself confused between the s10 and gtx.

coz now the model is not known as GTX but 1.6 sports.

I am confused.

Even S10 used to come with tube type tyres.

I referred it as the GTX coz you mentioned it as the GTX in your earlier post. You are right, its now called the 1.6 sport. The S10's are no longer made. Their production stopped way back in third quarter 2003.

Why don't you call up the dealer and clarify the doubt

Hi All,

I am new to this forum. I have been regular at PALIOUSERSINDIA group although i dont own any FIAT car but have similar enthusiasm for FIAT cars. Its not that i cant afford but didnt buy bcoz of FIAT INDIA reasons.

I just want to quote in regards to Plaio 1.6 .........

Excellent product with true Italian feel and European comfort and solidity. The maintenance maybe higher than Maruti / Hyundai but less than other brands.

It does not come with tubeless tyres. Dont believe the FIAT dealers rather do ur research on FIAT cars and now with TATA FIAT tie up now FIAT cars are the best buy according to me. I am myself considering buying Petra.

But one thing someone mentioned 6 Lac + on road price ... i really doubt bcoz the most expensive model of FIAT - Adventure is 6 lac on road in Delhi.

Go for the 1.6 engine of FIAT be it in any form.

Ok now I dont exactly remember which car it was from fiat but I am sure it had tubeless tyres. I had got the quotation for a fully loaded car and tubeless tyres was one of them.

A month ago, i was looking for a GTX. I did look/drive a few before i picked up one. I noticed that most models i looked at (having a mileage of about 20-30K) were on stock tires. Suprisingly the spare wheel would remain untouched because it never came with an Alloy rim.

I'm pretty sure i will have to do the same : rotate the 4, which do have an alloy rim. This way the spare wheel will never get used.

Do all cars which come with alloys have this problem ?
