Most overrated: Zen, Esteem, Accent - Good marketing strategy though. Timing was perfect.

Most underrated: Baleno - Partly Maruti's fault for looks and skinny tyres.

For me, Palio was never underrated. Everybody loves palio. They just dont love Fiat dealership in India.

Most overrated cars would be
(1) Wagon-R
(2) Zen (I'd prefer an M800 any day.)
(3) Scorpio
(4) Ikon Flair(esteem's better)
(5) Corolla
(6) NHC (I'd say the old one was a LOT LOT fun to drive)
(7) Fusion (I'd love to buy the top-end one for 1.25 lakh less than the sticker price)

And the underrated ones,
(1) Tavera (Nobody's even talking about this one!)
(2) Octavia(how many of your friends know about the company Skoda?)
(3) BMW(finding it tough to match a Merc's snob value in India)
(4) Matiz(Too bad the company closed down. Had it for 5 years...easily the best small car around at that time)
(5) Elantra(Sandwiched in the Corolla/NHC zone, not getting it's due attention)
(6) Uno(great car let down by 1970s looks and horrible afer sales support)
(7) Baleno(lack of publicity)

okay, i know i'm gonna create some ripples over here, but anyways...

most overrated cars (in india, of course): mercedes benz, (c, e and s class; the SL's are simply off the scales...the M class is okay, though) swift, honda city...

most underrated: baleno, petra, terracan...
