Default back and cars

The fundamental issue with the low slung cars is the ingress egress where you are putting a lot of stress on your back getting in and out.. Additionally Indian roads cause way too much movement lateral and vertical that the back is unable to handle in a supine position...

My tuppence..

yoga doesnt seen to help much. I have been doing yoga regularly for two years aftermy first attack. Dont do yoga on your own. Get a good qualified instructor. My problem got aggravated partly due to yoga i was doing. Some yoga exercises are forbiddon in back pain cases

I had a back problem around 2 years back and was misdiagnosed with a slip disc. When I had my 1st attack I couldn't get up at all and was on bed rest for a week. I was searching for a solution to my problem so came across this book which was of immense help to me. I have no back trouble (touchwood) now.

Amazon.com: Healing Back Pain: The Mind-Body Connection: Books: John E. Sarno

Hope it helps you too.

i don't think racing seats will help in any way for this particular problem.

Thanks
24995577, he is a miracle worker, i tell you. he will pick up the phone himself. I paid Rs.300 for the 5 minute consultation & it beat the 65k i spent earlier trying to find the right treatment.

I posted the above at the wrong 'muhurat'. As soon as I read this thread, I started feeling uneasy sitting in my chair and even when driving the car. I was always conscious about how the seating position is affecting my back and the result of it is that I have a bad back pain today

well, the 135 degree recline will definitly give you a 6 pac ab if you have to ramain in that position!
I have found that in the lancer, the seats offer good support that even after a long drive, your back does not hurt.
The palio, I have found one optimal position of the seat, however both wife and mother keep changing it for their connveincnce. I am now experimenting with the recline angle on palio seat to see which suits best.

Took the words right out of my mouth!

I feel this is a problem that transcends car seats. There HAS to something more to this.
Perhaps medical doctors on this thread could advise.

yes, change in human lifestyle from phyisically active to physically inactive and mentally active (requiring lots of time sitting). not to mention cut throat competition which leaves little time for rest (hence unwillingness to exercise).

Take rest for 2 months at least. And I don't mean COMPLETE bed rest. Try walking around even if it pains you a bit. Don't overdo it though.

I'm not going to say anything against your doctor, but most doctors will tell you to avoid the gym/avoid bikes/cars/etc. I'm riding, driving, working out and having no issues with it. Butttt, bear in mind, at all times I'm alert about it.

ok, i did some googling and this seems to be the best, but man, 169$!!!

i have no idea why car seats do not come with a support like this.

Car Seat Back Support | Car Back Support | Office Chair Back Support
