My top speed 170kmh on my palio 1.2 on NH7.

mine would be 165kmph with ac on and 5 people in the car in a hyundai getz 1.3 on the NICE road in bangalore

nope that is a 1.2.. was a surprise for me too

as my car has done 165kmph before but on the other day following spider77's baleno which was doin 180
my speedo slowly climbed to 170.
the only mod in my car is a k&n Xstream filter

palio 1.2 can do 170kmph as my santro 1.1 can do 160kmph... so why now this car

And how stable is the Santro at that speed? Isn't that really dangerous?

When i tried it on stock Palio 1.2 it simply refused to go beyond 140kmph.

Were you in 5th? Seemingly the palio really struggles to pull in 5th once you hit high speeds.

Here's mine,

1] 200 Kmph on Speedo in my 1.9TDi on Pune-Mumbai E-Way [Had to struggle a lot to reach this speed

]

2] 160 Kmph on Speedo in my Diesel Lancer on Pune-Mumbai E-way

I did a 140 Kmph on my Wagon-R on Durgapur Expressway.... but did not sustain for long on that as mine is a 5 yr. old car and the steering was generating a lot of vibrations at that speed. The car was otherwise stable though.

However I find that 110-120 Kmph is quite OK with this car as I often do it on AJC Flyover mostly while comming back from office at night if the stretch is empty.

KP, maybe you too need to follow a Baleno which is doing 180....and then it will slowly climb to 170

I was almost standing on the pedal.

That was the problem, you were exerting lot of pressure by standing on the pedal

bringing the speed down.
