Ever contemplated an Automotive career? - Page 3 - Team-BHP

Well...I have always dreamt of being a car designer for one of the European Giants. Its been almost 4 years from the time I started drawing cars...and am still going hard at it..and if I must say I am getting pretty good at it(I'm not BRAGGING)..but theres a problem I dont know where to go from here...are these designs going to remain on paper itself or are thay going to be on road? I have just started the 3-D part of the designs and still on a steep learning curve..
PS: Do any of you share the same interests as I do?? and what are the steps that you are taking to go that little bit further into the business?

Good question. Answer: Always. Don't see myself venturing into anything else.

Looking to work with a Motor sport team, particularly a LeMans racing team.

Might settle down later in life owning a specialist house in Vehicle Dynamics or Powertrains.
Dreaming.........

a career in automobiles, you say....hmmm....my perfect career would be a mix of viper's+GTO's+manson's+sandeepmdas's dreams, with a pinch of gautam singhania's financial backup, and hormazd sorabjee's work;

ahhh.....one is allowed to dream, even virtually....

AGE 5-10 --> Wanted to own a Bus fleet operating from Bombay to Goa
Age 10-12 --> Always wanted to be in my drivers seat.
Age 12-15 --> Be a race car driver.
Age 15-18 --> A private garage for my own cars.

From age 18 - Present -->
Auto journalist. (Part time)
A chain of Car dealerships across the country with a centralised Database, something based on the concept of shopping malls. A one stop shop for all your car needs housing all major brands. A special section for each subsidary. Will start off with one someday.

And ofcourse win a Raid-De-Himalaya in the extreme category.

I wanted to...but after a year of TVS now I am not so sure....I d prefer a small company like TVR (S minus 1 makes such a difference) or Caterham....

Test driver and a Rally car driver --- Drivers seat for me. That is the best way to experience a car.

Wanted to be a race driver.....now probably a test-driver cum Designer.

Already pursuing the latter with my Bachelor's in Car Design in Italy, which i started a couple of months back. Love the course. Lots of hard work no doubt, but I know once im done with all the hard work, ill have a good future ahead....and hopefully, a good job too.

Dream is to work at Ferrari someday, and probably take Dario's job too...LOL
