Hey,

Bevda - "short first gear" is the correct term!...the esteem had long gearing...i know what u mean..ive hit 65km/h in first in a carb'd esteem!
Esteems are also THE best when it comes to handbrake turns.....(especially when its not your car!!
About the windshield washer, i guess you can take a toothpick and adjust the little moveable nozzles in the tiny housings on the bonnet.

So what i dont like about my cars...umm...ill just do the accent for now -
i- Engine lacks power (ie from the claimed bhp figure)
ii- Suspension is a bit wishy-washy, very comfortable, but it could have a firmer feel, especially aound corners.
iii- Hyundai brandimage, well it makes me a bit scared when i try any stunts because i guess i subconsciously doubt the hyundai engineering a bit

Those are really the only complaints i have, ofcourse the first two being what kills the possibity of the accent being a true drivers car, but i have had some great fun with this car and do love it a lot.
Interiors, space, ergonomics etc are all absolutely great in the accent IMO.

hey guys
well i use the palio and sometime the nexia
first the palio -
shifting into 5th is a bit notchy.
car percieved as a small car and is used for all odd jobs such as ferrying the dog and servants and orst of all it is used by guests who cant drive and are very messy:(

aprt from that the car is awesome and is exeedingly well maintained and u wont believe that this was the same car that was used to ferry around people and driven by ASSOLES (understatement).
because of which i had to get the speaker wiring done many times

also the ride is a bit sore

now the nexia

daewoo image
cielo looks
so so gearbox
oh yeah and also that ive not got permission to modify the car ( it would be the first modified car in the house )
but ive decided to modify the first car i buy with my hard earned money
apart from these

i love the big car feel
the interiors
the engine and safety and many more things.
ditto with the palio

flaws in my zen:
low ground clearance as underbody scrapes almost every speedbreaker with 2 people in the rear.
mpfi engine more noisy ,but then my free flow makes more noise,
cramped rear seats, almost zero dicky space.
12inch tires.

other than these,i luv my zen .maybe its the poor mans city.

Heres abt my Siena 1.6

Like lamborghini says, shifting into fifth is really a pain. You actually have to struggle with the gear lever to slot it into 5th. And then it begins to get a little sluggish. So dont mind leaving it in 4th, since thats overdrive too.

The body gets dinged easily. I was quite surprised when that happened. Coz the car looks solidly built. But the sheet metal is thin. Even my 11 year old fiat doesnt get dinged so easily.

The thick A pillar causes visibility probs and u have to be extra careful in narrow twisty gullies. Even readward visibility is a real pain. But the electric controlled rear view mirrors do ease up things if you learn to trust them enuff.

Won't complain abt mileage which is abt 7 km to the litre with ac on always in bombay's traffic conditions. The sales guy told me to shift into 4th as soon as i get to 40. But then u dont get yourself a 100 bhp dohc 16 valver to worry abt fuel efficiency. Though its a bonus if it does give you decent figures. I have done only 1900 kms in the past two years. lol. and i dont expect things to improve in a jiffy.

The bridgestones that i asked for are noisy. And the bad roads do rattle u a bit becoz of the low profile of the tires and the stiff suspension setup. Steering is very precise otherwise. Gives u a sort of confidence to hustle the car around.

The brake pedal also has a mind of its own. Squishy sometimes and firm at others.

Overall i am very delighted with the car. For the kind of money i paid for it, i have really got myself a pocket rocket.

But seriously:
Octi:
- front seats don't have enough fore/aft travel on them
- AC fan speed is way too high in all settings
- can't control airflow through the vents

Indica: HUGE wheel arches but tiny wheels!
Corolla: Front door armrests badly placed

For most models, we get a lower version of the same car sold in European/American market. We pay more (often in absolute terms) yet get worse model. Personally I think the most disappointing thing is the PRICE

Safari Dicor

1. No Dead Pedal for Clutch (they've got plenty of space for one!)

2. No mudflaps, not even basic stuff - get your vehicle all splattered with those 235/R16 wheels really churning up mud.

3. Pathetic OE tyres.

4. No ABS, for a 10-lakh plus vehicle!

5. Really bad intermittant speed settings for the windscreen wiper - either too fast or too slow.

6. Lousy placement of ICE Head Unit - gearlever prevents you from changing CDs when in gears 1,3 and 5.

7. Foot-level a/c vents for rear seats unnecessary, especially when roof-mounted a/c is available - rear seat occupants usually have frozen feet after a long journey. Talk about cold feet!

8. Really tiny glovebox for such a large car. Not enough cubbyholes, and definitely no place to plonk a 1 litre bottle of mineral water - even the Accent had space on its door for those!
